Is clean!! I was happy enough with the cleaning lady that came a few weeks ago, but when I got a flyer in my mailbox for a house cleaning service, I decided to give them a call. Turns out the lady that runs this company is a bonafide clean freak, just like my wonderful husband She came over to have a look-see at our house and give me an idea of what it would cost to clean. As usual, I started asking numerous questions, I’m a very curious person. And as usual, I get some juicy tidbit that lets me understand a bit more about this person I’m considering giving full access to all my ‘stuff’. Turns out she just had to fire a lady who worked for her because she cleaned the outside of the toilet with the same cloth she cleaned the inside of the toilet with. Upon reflection, I can see that might be a germ freak ‘no no’ … but I’m thinking “What’s the big deal!?!” Needless to say, this information helped seal the deal, I signed up with her on the spot. She definitely has a whole different idea of ‘clean’ than I do! Bring it ON! I came home today at the designated time, three hours after she and three other ladies started cleaning. Well, they weren’t even done yet! Yikes!! There is something totally humbling about knowing someone is in your house, cleaning up your messes. Your not-so-clean toilet. Your kids toothpaste on the sink top. Your dog’s hair all over the upholstered chair. Well, once I walked in (I had to take the kids to McDonald’s to burn some more time so they could finish) it was totally worth it. My house smelled and looked cleaner than it ever has. They even moved the rugs to mop the hardwoods underneath. They moved the leather couch and got ALL the dustbunnies. She and her team will be back in two weeks. It is such a wonderful relief knowing I can relax and spend time with the kids instead of making a weak attempt at cleaning. After all, it’s my husband who’s the clean freak
