Well, Laine over at the Ferrill Bunch inspired me to go ahead and post our Christmas card pic with her darling pics of her little ones. Ours is not great. One thing I’ve learned in the last 18 years is NOT to wait for something to be perfect, you’ll be waiting forever. I made our cards at Shutterfly, it was really easy and I am very pleased with the Shutterfly end of it.
So here she is: THE picture. We had to get out the ladder (okay, Chris had to get out the ladder) to get the camera in a position to fire away for said Christmas shot. So we set the self timer and each time I frantically ran back to my ‘position’ and we all yelled “CHEESE”… hoping for the best. If there had been a bystander they would have repositioned us to capture at least part of sweet Sophie’s body, but alas, no bystander was to be found. And I’ll admit, Asher looks like a zombie. And Jude looks like he belongs in Flock of Seagulls. And the chapstick on Zach’s lips looks a bit like nose goo. And my hair could have really used a few more minutes of fixin’. But hey, we’re all looking at the camera, most of us smiling and no one is doing anything rude (think Zach’s favorite: the dreaded bunny ears) or embarrassing (think Isabelle digging for gold). PERFECT!

It’s lovely! The kids all look great. Trust me…there’s a range for “normal” when you have more than one child.
We did the self-timer this year too. The outtakes are a scream. I eventually had to use Photoshop to switch a head, as there were none great on their own. Plus as Murphy’s Law would have it, on a really good one, well, um, mom didn’t make it back in time, and I wasn’t going to take the time to extract a whole “mom” to move into another photo. Oh well. :o)
