Well done, guys! Some of you got really close! Not only was I impressed by some of the guesses, but others had me laughing out loud (Laine, Hayley, Maia and Anna ~ you guys had me almost peeing my pants) and others had me wanting to cry (Patricia… TORI? ENGAGED?!? She’s STILL my baby! and Tory and Cate, pregnant with multiples? Now THAT makes my stomach churn, I’ve endured four pregnancies, each one more stressful (and painful) than the last.. no, no, no longer a possibility for us π
So, that leaves the other options. And no, Jude is not walking independently, YET. So there you have it. There IS indeed a little one in China who has our names written on their heart.
SO, what I really want to get are guesses about this child…
BOY OR GIRL?
AGE?
SN? If you know us, you KNOW it’s a waiting child π
LOCATION?
And any other specifics you want to throw in there π
I know some of you have given me some good solid guesses (Laine, Desiree, Holly, Melissa, Keri and Martha, my hat’s off to you!) But just in case you want to add more detail, or even change your guess, feel free.
I want to add that I have so enjoyed reading ALL the comments, and I am reminded how much I enjoy our bloggy community! Ya’ll are making me all mushy… I must be p, p, paperchasing!!
So, like I said before, I know you all are salivating over this *prize*, you’ll be the lucky recipient of: the closest guess wins a special gift straight from China, purchased by yours truly. Woo! Hoo!
So have at it!
Cate says
What?!!! You have got to be the luckiest family out there!!! This is WONDERFUL news!
OK (since you are not expecting triplets) my guess is:
A girl, age 1 or 4. SN is limb difference. From southern part of China and she has the same birthday as either you or your husband, or one of your other children. She also has a dimple on her chin and LOVES pizza.
I hope that is specific enough. π
Scott, Melissa & Kate says
This is GREAT news! I’m thrilled for your family and your new little one.
Boy, born in November of 2006
Special need: Club feet (2nd guess is cleft palate)
Province: Guizhou
You are crazy, but in the best, God-filled way. What a blessing this brings to a waiting child and to your big family. And in this time of the year, it’s a great reminder that there’s “always room at the inn” for a child.
The Ferrill's says
Oh yay! Yay! Yay! I will just live vicariously through you, because in my heart of hearts I just feel there’s another child out there for us, but alas, husband doesn’t feel that way. (And I’m so okay with that right now–little overwhelmed at the Ferrill home!)
Stefanie! I am just so excited I can’t take it!
I’m sticking with my original story: a sweet 6 year old girl, limb difference, and I’ll say from central China.
Can’t wait to meet her!
Again, I cannot contain my excitement. I had to share with husband last night and showed him your blog. Now he’s in on the fun, too!
Yay! yay! Yay! Did I mention how thrilled I am? π

The suspense is killing me. I changed my mind, a boy same age as Jude (give or take a few mths) with sn of cleft lip/palete. Do we all really have to wait until tomorrow for this wonderful news?
Congrats to you!!
Kate & Crew says
Okay, wait, didn’t you once on one of your blogs claim to be “typical” explaining that you drink Diet Coke with your fries? You almost had me fooled. You are amazing and inspiring!
Boy
Born September 2006
SN: Cleft lip/palate
Guangdong Province
And he is totally cute… just like all your other children. Congratulations!

I am going to guess girl. 50/50 shot, right? π
Hmmm…her special need…heart condition? I don’t know. But boy or girl, this child is BLESSED.
Tish says
would it be cheating to go to the Lifeline waiting child list and see if any are “on hold?”
how big is your dinner table? do you have an extendable one?
CONGRATULATIONS!
Keri says
Steph,
I am so excited and I am sticking with boy!
He is about Jude’s age, but a little younger. I am going to say about 12-15 months.

Let me say YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!!! God’s light shines through you two as a couple with so much love!! Wow so this will make #8? Ahhh, wow, I am so contacting you for pointers and advice when my little one gets home – I don’t know how you do it!

province: same as Jude
Best of luck!! Man I can’t wait to hear the news … I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to arrive!
Cate says
Good, so I’m not the only one who keeps checking your blog to see if you have divulged info. I see I have good company with Annab in boise, Id.
I’m not changing my guess though. It’s a girl. You have 4 boys, and now you’ll have 4 girls. I could be right.
waiting for sophie says
WHAT EXCITING NEWS!!! Can’t wait to hear all the details! My guess:
~a girl to even things out (4 girls, 4 boys),
~heart condition (VSD or ASD)
~younger than little Jude,
~living in foster care through LWB,
~from a coastal province like your other kiddos (I think you said that in a post one time),
~oh, yes, and sweet cheeks like your Sophie!
The suspense is killing me… C’mon, don’t make us wait until tomorrow…pretty please…with a cherry on top!?!
Kim
Karrie says
My guess is “Roman” on Lifeline’s SN list. Born in November 2006 with cross feet and accessory ears for the left ear. He is from the Childrenβs Welfare Institute in Dong Guan City. Jude could certainly show him the ropes!!!!
Congrats on your new family member!!!!! Your family is truely an inspiration!
Best wishes!

Gina says
Coming out of lurkdom with my guess –
Joey, the little boy with burns that you posted about in September. You really seemed to take him to heart!
Gina
Kimi says
Okay….my turn….1st of all please no Round 3, I don’t know if I can take it. You are being tricky….”a” little one…..written on “their” heart…I am going to take 2 guesses.
1.)twin girls
2.)little boy,
BD – in November
SN – limb difference, missing left hand, with wrist mobility, that loves the outdoors.
This is fun but please tell soon…don’t make is wait until tomorrow.
mimi4 says
Oh Stefanie I’m sooo happy for you and a little envious too! ok, well if i were adopting again, i would be going older, so i’ll just guess older for you…..age between 4 and 8. i’m thinking boy, but don’t know for sure….so please please please tell us! hugs, mimi
Global Girl says
Hmmm…
My guess:
An older child.
Has to be a girl- everyone needs even numbers π
Anhui Province.
SN- hearing loss.
And congrats, you wonderful mommy!
Josiah YaNan's Mommy says
Wow! I just knew it in my heart and I am just so thrilled for you! We have been home 3 months and already my heart has been prompted to adopt again, although not from China (surprisingly!). We truly cannot afford it and feel that God is using our financial circumstances right now to keep us at bay, trusting Him for when the time is right! Do you think you could get a CCAA discount since you have paid enough of the fees so many times? Okay, maybe not but you SHOULD! Perhaps it isn’t the precious children in China you love, but it’s the rapid weight loss via sweating to death in GZ that you are really after, ha ha ha. Just kidding!
I’m guessing that this future sweetie is a little boy and I’m going to guess that he is 4 years old. His special need is that he is missing one BIG loving family who will show Him the way to the Savior! Perhaps he is a cleft affected child too, but that is secondary to the fact that he needs YOU ALL!
How much longer are you gonna make everybody wait????
Do we get to guess on names too?!
Blessings,
Holly
(Enjoying the game even while complaining about the suspense!!)
Amie says
I am crying for you I am so happy… and also because we have 4 biological, and two adopted from China,, all under 12..And My youngest has only been home three months and already I am thinking and praying about our next child… so now I can say..”See, it can be done.”And also, it is good to have company as crazy(or crazier.. π ) as I am..LOL. I just love you and your family. And I second the action figure comment…
Okay.. I am thinking Boy(Second guess: girl.. :))… around 18months(or older) .. club foot or cleft?(or any other SN)..waiting for you somewhere in China. How’d I do? Specific.. right??? SUPER CUTE… melts your heart…. perfect for your family… angel from above…(hoping if I don’t get the other specifics, this will getcha!)
Oh, I am just so thrilled for you and your family…
Thanks for the smile!!

tiffany says
Well again, I just dont have guesses…because I am so consumed with JEALOUSY. I know that is terrible! I am just being honest. Keeping it real. I just don’t think we can start again. Yet. Hurrumph.
But seriously, SO HAPPY FOR YOU ALL! And can not wait to hear the details. π
tiffany says
Oh but on second thought let me toss out a guess. There is a little one who has stolen my heart lately and I wonder if she has stolen yours too??? I can not wait to hear who her family is! She is with CHI, turned 2 in Nov, heart condition (TOF). Any chance you are the lucky mommy?? π
Susan says
Congratulations! You surely have the heart of The Father when it comes to adoption.
My guess is that darling little girl with curly pigtails that you took several pictures of when you were in China with Jude. How’s that for specific?
Many blessings on your generous hearts.
Kimi says
this comment goes along with my above guess….details…I forgot details.
October 23, 2005, to be exact.
This little guy that I am referring to has stolen my heart and I hope you are his mommy because I know he will be in great hands, and will be raised to love the Lord.
AnnaB. in Boise, ID says
Alright Stef! Out with it….OUT…OUT…..OUT!!!!! I think you are one hour ahead of me or is it two? I have to go somewhere this evening and it would certainly help me out if you would TELL US ALREADY!!! You are loving this agony aren’t you? π
It is currently 2:20pm in Idaho. And it’s not funny anymore π

Get my drift?
Post it baby. I’m coming out of my skin ova here!
As my mother used to say: THIS HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH. And she was pretty firm about it I might add *wink*
AnnaB. in Boise, ID says
Ok, another hour has gone by…still waiting….and waiting…and waiting. I envision you giggling with the smug look of satisfaction and the childhood taunt “I know something you don’t know….(insert sticking out your tongue here)….I know something you don’t know” running through your head π
BTW, can you tell me why my comments always have a little trashcan below them???? I am starting to take it personally. Does that show up in your browser too or just mine?
Now, back to the subject at hand. When are you planning to spill the beans, break the news, wave the flag, out with it??????
Scott, Melissa & Kate says
What Kris said.
Spill it, lady.

ok, I guess I’ll add my two cents: boy, 3-4, limb difference of course π
Kelley
Mom to my China Posse says
Lets see I am guessing a boy now since my gueses so far were wrong. Is it the little boy with All gods Children that has a heart issue thats a super cutie? I always have a top 10 list running in my head of kids I would like to bring home and I think I have already named at least 4 of them. lol…… I can’t wait to hear! Kathy
