Over the last month I have been surprised and, quite honestly, fascinated by all the new folks that have bravely shrugged off their anonymity and commented on the blog. I don’t like when people (ahem, that would be my husband) use the word “nosy” to describe me… I prefer “curious”… but I am always interested in finding out the who, what, when, where and why about people. So, needless to say, I dig it when someone new checks in on our blog and gives us a shout out. Plus, I LOVE meeting new people and hearing about how they came to find our little blog ๐
So as a way of saying “THANKS” (and as a little tease to get other lurkers to come out of hiding) I’m giving away something I think it really cool…. $25 dineros of shoppin’ money, baby!!
I recently came across this site and LOVE not only the adorably hip tees, but the fact that for each shirt purchased, they will donate enough to feed an orphan in Africa for a whole month! Sweet… you get the tee AND help feed a child for a month! A double doozie!!
And right now they are running a special: buy 2 or more for $12 each, so $25 could buy you TWO tees… one for you and one for your little one!
So here’s the deal. ANYONE can enter, just leave a comment on THIS post, and let me know how long you’ve been a reader (assuming you are a reader) and how you found us. If you’re not a regular reader, that’s okay too! Cuz’ I know, everyone loves a giveaway!
I’ll chose the winner randomly a week from today, on Friday the 19th and I’ll contact the winner with their gift certificate code so they can start shoppin’! So whether you’re an old or new reader, or even if you couldn’t care less about our fam but wanna win something for free, comment away!

Ok, Ok,,, I have left a comment or two.. but have been "nosy" for quite some time! We adopted our amazing daughter 5 months ago. I have found so much inspiration from you and your open and honest ways. I surely had fears and doubts sometimes early on in the process. I found so much comfort in reading your heartfelt words, as well as the fun and beautiful things too. You have a BEAUTIFUL family. We would love to go back to China to bring a 5th child home… We will see what God's plans are for that one. Our friends & family think we are nuts.

Hi Stephanie. I’ve been following your blog since you adopted Sophie. I posted once a long time ago, when your dear friend from Texas passed in the skydiving accident. I’m a native Texan, living in upstate New York, adoptive mom to my almost 3 year old daughter from China and DTC yesterday for my 9 year old son, also from China. I am absolutely serious when I say this – you are my hero! I check your blog daily, sometimes just to see what you are up to, sometimes to motivate myself when I’m feeling overwhelmed. You rock!! May God continue to bless your family.

Hi Stefanie-
I have followed your blogs since FOREVER! I discovered your blog from the Huai’an SWI Yahoo group. My daughter, Kelsey, shares the same SWI as your Isabelle. I followed your Journey to Isabelle first – and your pictures of the homecoming and Tori hugging her brothers brought tears to my eyes. Then – you knocked my socks off when you announced you were waiting for Sophie so shortly afterward…but then Came Jude too – and then Shepherd!! We have emailed a bit back and forth – – but I must admit I have been lurking for quite some time. I just love your blog – checking it is a favorite part of my day!
I wish you all the best with your beautiful family.

Hi Stephanie,
I have been following your family since your first journey to Isabelle. We were just getting ready to start our adoption process at that time. I have enjoyed so much each trip and each addition to your family. I love your honesty and sincerity that you give to each post. We are still waiting for China (LID 3/29/06) but we also brought home a daughter from Vietnam this past March. Along with our 3 bio children, we live a pretty busy life, although maybe not quite as busy as yours!
Yes, I am guilty of reading and never commenting and posting. I bet there are many more who are blessed by your posts and never tell you. (:

I started reading your blog via the myadoptionwebsite when you went to China to get Jude. I appreciate your genuine honesty. We are missionaries in the Philippines and currently waiting to be placed with a 7 year old girl via a “domestic” adoption here in the Philippines. I have first hand experience in a government orphanage in the Philippines and it really tugs at my heart. One caretaker for 12 babies under two. We have also fostered a baby through the Philippine system. The bureaucracy is crazy here. I think they could learn a lot from the China adoption program. Just in case anyone is wondering, it is NOT necessarily easier to adopt locally and then go to the USA. At least not for us. Sigh!! We are trusting the Lord to work out the details as we wait. God bless you and your family. You are an inspiration.

Hi Stehanie! I found your blog over a year ago through another blog. We too have been touched by adoption through China. We brought home our daughter in Feb. 2007. What a blessing she has been to our family. I’m so grateful I listened to God to take this leap of faith and trust Him. I thank you for opening so many eyes to special needs adoption through your blog. I love to check in daily to see how your beautiful family is doing. I think your an amazing mom!

Hi Stephanie,
I found your blog last week from another blog that I was visiting. I can so relate to you and your family. My husband’s and my family are rooted in the South. We moved 2years ago from TX to CT. My in-law’s are Georgians and my family originally hails from Southern VA. We love our friends here in CT, but would return South in a heartbeat! (You can take the girl out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the girl!) Your family is precious and such a wonderful inspiration. My hubby and I (high school sweethearts)have four awesome children by birth and we are LID China 06.19.08for our first child through adoption. There are no words to express the awe and humility we feel to have been led down this path. We are so grateful to all of you bloggers who share your family stories with those of us out here in the waiting stage. You are each such a blessing of hope, encouragement and inspiration. May you continue to be blessed in return…Love, Amy

I’ve been reading along since 2005 when you traveled to get Isabelle. We started our paperwork shortly after and FINALLY traveled to get our daughter last fall. The waiting time was so difficult, as you well know. But reading about other people’s journeys help tremendously. I have just loved watching your family grow : )
Like you, we just moved and are getting settled in a new home, new groove. I’m new to being a SAHM (love it!) and have finally started our own blog. I’ll try to de-lurk more often!

I found your blog through the unbelievable grapevine of links in the adoption community. You were just going through paperwork for Jude when I started reading regularly. Ever since then I check in at least every other day. And you’ve usually posted something new! You are amazing! I love large families and the beauty of your own is astounding. Hi Stefanie! I found your blog mentioned in a post from one of my adoption lists, and I began checking in right before Shepherd came home. (We sent you the doggie fabric for his quilt.) I love reading your blog because it is funny and real, and it makes me realize that with 3 bio kids already, we certainly have room in our lives and hearts for our future adopted children. I have so few friends who understand why we are adopting at all, and why we are adopting from overseas. I feel like I’m always defending our decisions. So, it’s great to know about real families who choose the same path, and follow their hearts and God. And of course, your kids are beautiful, and I enjoy your photos. (Do you have a Rebel camera?) Anyway, thanks for sharing with us! You are inspiring!

Stephanie,
I found your blog perhaps last December or January (possibly longer) through reading through Jude’s site on My Adoption Website. I am a senior at Georgetown University and am in the beginning stages of writing my thesis on the reprocussions of the one child policy. My roommate makes fun of me because I follow the websites of “several” families in various places in Chinese adoption, including yours. I was in China this summer, and stayed on Shamian while doing research. I was having coffee with a friend at Starbucks when you walked by with Shepard, I turned to my friend and said “I know that family, I read their blog.” I went and checked in with your blog (had been out of touch while in China) and sure enough you had just receieved Shepard! I thought it would be strange and a little stalker-ish to chase you down and introduce myself. But my heart swelled to know you had Shepard.
Love reading about your family.

I’ve been checking your blog since May (I think) which was right about the time you went to get Sheperd. I am rather new to this whole world of blogging. I found and read my first blog ever when searching for any info I could find on the chengdu orphanage our son is in. I found Michele’s blog (ourjourneytosophie.blogspot.com) and I believe your blog was listed on that. I’ve been following your story ever since. I love reading chinese adoption-related blogs. We are waiting on our CIS approval and there isn’t much we can do now. So, in the meantime, I am enjoying reading blogs like yours and wondering about what it will like for us when we finally get to meet our son. He is three and special needs too (cleft lip/palate). He’s had corrective surgery already. I have a blog to document our wait and eventual travel to bring him home. It’s godspromisetocaleb.blogspot.com. julia in IN.

So I started reading the blog and was lucky enough to meet you, Chris and Shepherd in China this June. All my friends wanted to know if I had met you… they read it too. It was one of the highlights of our trip to China this time around.
Thanks for taking the time to share your life with us.

Hi Stefanie and family. I found your blog from the CCAIWC group around the beginning of the year. You are a great inspiration to me and really opened my eyes to adopting boys. I love to check in to see how you are doing.

Hi! I’m a “lurker” and have been reading for many months now. I can’t even remember how I found your site, but I’ve been loving watching your family grow. You all have such big hearts – hats off to you really!

I have been reading your blog since Jude’s adoption. I found your blog on the ChinaAdoptionSites.com and have been following it every since then.
When I have a rough day with my 2 children, (one DS adopted USA, one DD from Guangxi China) I think about you and sometimes come a read from your blog. May God continue to bless you and your beautiful family.

Hi there, I love reading your blog and I am pretty sure I found it through my adoption website.
We are waiting to adopt a little girl from Korea and I am a little hooked on adoption blogs right now!
Like everyone else said, you have been an inspiration- not just because of the adoptions, but because you have heard God’s call on your life and have chosen to step out in faith and answer it- trusting Him to guide you, even when it is very difficult.
Blessings to you and your family!

Hi Stephanie,
I have followed your blog for months. I orginally saw one of your updates on myadoptionwebsite. We are have 3 teenagers and are in our 30th month of waiting for our daughter from China. You have a beautiful family and are an inspiration to those of us that wait.
Blessings to your family,
Kelly

I found your blog just after you adopted Isabelle. I was researching special needs adoption and reading about her heart condition and surgery helped solidify our desire to help a child who needs help. We brought our sweet girl with ASD home in March ’07 and it turned out that the hole in her heart had healed itself, but there was an even greater emotional hole in her heart that we are still working on healing. You and your children are blessed that they don’t seem to have such big emotional scars to work on. I have four kids, and when I get crazy, I just read your blog to see how you gracefully handle your eight, and I am encouraged. Thanks for sharing your life and love with us!
Blessings,
Julia in TX

Hi Stefanie – I have followed your journey since you brought Sophie home. She was on the same waiting child list with our daughter Tessa. You have been an inspiration to me through your blog – because you are REAL. You are a mom and proud of it. I love that!
As we start our next adoption ourney, I only hope I can be half as diligent as you in posting to our site.
Take Care and God Bless,
Diane

I’ve been reading your blog since just before you started your adoption for Shepherd. I could only hope to do what you’ve done, but as a single female, I still hope to adopt on day.
