some things to smile about

Yes!
Dalton finally lost that last front tooth. Watching teeth get loose, then wobbly, then hang there by a thread always turns my stomach. Finally, his last front tooth is gone.

There is just something about his toothless grin that makes me want to love up on this boy. Of course, he can’t stand that. And he grimaces every time I tell him how adorable he is. Evidently his father filled his head with some fictitious tale of boys with missing teeth who look tough. And mean.

Adorable is what I say. At least until those big ol’ chompers start to grow in. And he starts to look way older than he should.

Another reason to smile is my sweet friend Diana. She encouraged me to head on down to my local USCIS office and see if we could go ahead and get fingerprinted. No waiting for my rescheduled May 18th appointment.

She recommended we go, like now.

So we did. And guess what?? They actually did it! Didn’t even bat an eye. Took us in, took our prints and bid us good day. That easy!! So, in one fell swoop, we shaved almost a month off our wait for Vivi! Wahooooo!!!

Told you she’s sweet πŸ™‚

Your Toothless Wonder is totally adorable, even if he thinks otherwise! Mean and tough? There’s lots of time for that…later. πŸ™‚

I’m sooooo glad your friend encouraged you to get your prints done now! Wow!! We got our approval less than a week after our prints…and I recently heard of someone else who did also. More great news is on your not-so-distant horizon!!

Awesome about the fingerprints! It is so rare that you are able to speed things up in this process, what a coup!

I love toothless grins, too- on babies and on 7 year-olds. I just put a missing-tooth picture of my 7-year-old on my blog too:)

Hi, I’ve lurking for a while ever since PW linked you. I’ve been in awe of how you’ve found your children and added to your home. There must have been a reason why I kept returning to your site. I think you are meant to help me. I need help in regards to the adoption process, how to make it quicker??? I just found out, that I must/want to adopt my niece who is in Vietnam. Can you tell me the exact process it takes once you initiate the I-600? I know Vietnam is different from China… but I was hoping you could help me get her with us(my son and I) sooner. My email is appletini97@yahoo.com
