that face

Good mornin’, Sunshine.

This is what I woke up to yesterday morning.

My front porch.

My pots.

Minus one.

More of the carnage.

Not exactly sure what these plants were, but I sure had a lot of respect for them. They made it all the way from our old house to our new house, which included a month of being completely ignored.

They deserved better.

The culprit. Trying to look like he’s on the hunt for the real culprit.

His name is Seamus.

And he’s one naughty doggie.

Starting to feel the first pangs of guilt. But still maintaining his composure.

And he’s outta here.

This is where I found the upturned pot. All the way around the back of the house. In the middle of what used to be a beautiful bed of daisies.

That was before we let our dogs (and kids) loose in this once lovely yard.

Again, even after I had discovered the evidence, he’s still trying to maintain his innocence.

Either that, or he’s already forgotten what I was yelling about.

Yeah, he’s definitely forgotten.

I see this look a lot around my house.

More flowers, more carnage.

This is just what I get for not letting him in when he wanted in.

I give up.

I just can’t stay mad at a face like that.

You kill me Stephanie, just the 'one naughty doggie' statement did it! …but I kept reading and you got funnier. You should write a book, seriously!

Btw, I can't believe the dog did that? Are you sure?

    Dogs!!!!!! aaaaaaaaaauuuuuugggghh…but oh the love.

I've got a nearly 11 month old Chocolate Labrador called Pudding – she unpotted a heather early one morning and demolished it. Now my nearly 3 year old is relishing digging in the earth that's left in the pot. I know how you're feeling!
    But they're still so precious!

I'm new to your blog–been lurking for a few weeks. But that face is too adorable NOT to comment! Sorry about your plants. =( He does look genuinely sorry! =)

You won't stay mad at a boxer! You never know what terrible fate he saved you from…what horrible critter he chased from your front porch.
Next time he scratches at the front door he will have you trained to let him in.

    Love it!! cute, cute post!!

We have two golden retrievers and it is impossible to keep our yard nice. It takes all summer to heal the yard from the yellow spot from a long winter. Then they go after the flowers in the landscaping and take a break to eat some poop. I'll stop there- you get the picture!

  10. Dita says:

YOU make my sides hurt! Poor puppy…I'll bet Mama hit every octave out there!

That'll learn ya, Stef…..when he wants in…LET HIM IN!

  11. Shanna says:

    sorry about your pots.
our dog dug up all 200 tulip bulbs that I spent an entire day planting…. and he ATE them. i was so angry! at that moment, i prayed that all 200 bulbs would sprout out of his rear come the first warm spring day!! isn't that awful?? hahaha.

  12. Annie says:

    Hugs,
    Tanya

I've seen that look before. They are all the same, aren't they? Hanging their head in shame and all. Even with all the diggin', we still love our boxer. Most of the time :)

  15. Jenn says:

By the end of this post I was thinking, "Poor Seamus". And then I thought…WHAT!!!??

    Gotta love 'em.
