I could positively, absolutely, drown in this boy’s eyes.
Can someone tell me why most people who adopt from China prefer girls?
It’s a rhetorical question, of course.
I know the answer, because I once was ‘most people’.
I’m so grateful God changed my heart.

Oh I know Stefanie. I am so glad God changed my heart too!!! Ryan is an amazing boy and I can't imagine life without him! When I went to check out AAC's list you posted I was shocked to see that out of the 22 something like 19 or 20 of them were BOYS!! So sad. Not to say we would adopt a boy for sure next but being OPEN to it is so important. Breaks my heart how we complain about China 'not wanting their girls', yet we are known for the opposite when it comes to adoption. Ok… I'm done. ๐

Stefanie! That post about Jude is my all time favorite post of yours. It definitely stirred something in my heart. I dream of the chance to bring home a son from China and my RDH now also believes this is the path for us. It looks like 2010 will be a GREAT year for our family!!! Thanks for being such an inspiration!!!

I'm pretty sure Ewaina will be a girl…but I'm open to more boys down the road ๐

You have no idea how boys fill my heart. Unfortunately when we were adopting we were informed that the only way to adopt a boy was to go the SN route. At that time in our lives that was not something that DH was open to. Now that we are feeling very called to adopt SN, the door is currently closed. I continue to pray and ask for peace and guidance, but my prayers are also for peace and acceptance of where I am in life.

He changed my heart too! To two beautiful little boys – one from China and one from Guatemala. And who knows if we are done? I hope not. ๐ Your family is such an inspiration.

I can't say it's so much about preference in my case, as it was a calling. Because there are SOOOOOOO many of those little boys that just melt me to pieces! Don't tell my hubby… but I would LOVE to go back for a little boy in a couple of years! But first things first…get Khloe home!! ๐
Your children are all SO darned cute… I could melt in ALL of their eyes! ๐
Hugs,
Tanya

Jude's story is one that stirred us to consider boys on the special needs list, and now our darling Philip is home with us while waiting for our third son (second from China) to come home! God is good.

Boys are awesome!! I love my boys, I have 5. They are stinky, love to play in mud most of the time and they are so funny. My boys always help me and they love their little adopted sister. I'm praying for 2 more angels, and I would love for the one to be another boy.

Thank you so much for your openness on your heart Stefanie! If you haven't you should read my post from Oct. 9th! http://almyfamilyjournal.blogspot.com/2009/10/samuel-god-heard.html
I had a similar epiphany … not that I know what to do with it … but I'm sure it was the whisper of God. It blew me away. Thank you for reassuring and spurring all of on in behalf of those who are waiting. Maybe our house could use a little more boy?!
Oh, and your boys are just PRECIOUS! I can see how you get lost in those eyes!

In my own personal case, I felt a very strong sense (like an involuntary "pull") that we are meant to adopt a daughter from China. …You just have to go with advice from above!! ๐
