Christmas List 2009 ~ 4-7 year olds

School is canceled today. Evidently, you can still get snowed in all the way up here, where they honestly know how to plow the roads and can actually drive on ice and snow.

So, if you’ve got ideas to add to today’s Christmas List 2009, I’ll be close by my computer to update the list, as long as the power doesn’t go out, trying to drown out the sound of the chaos ensuing around me.

Just kidding.

Today’s post is the second of five, each post representing one ‘category’ of Christmas List 2009. I’m giving you guys one last chance to see all the great ideas, and to add an idea or two of your own.

Welcome to my most current version of Christmas List 2009 for 4-7 year olds.

If your idea isn’t listed, or you’d like to add something feel free to do so in the comment section. You’ve got until 8:00 tonight.

Then I’ll select a winner and post it sometime after 8:00.

In case you forgot, winner gets one of these.

For $25 smackers. $25 skanootins. $25 buckeroos.

Just in time for some Christmas shopping. (heck yeah, I copied and pasted from yesterday’s post. you would too if your kids were home and you were snowed in. have mercy, people.)

WOW Stefanie – you sure have a lot in the area lol! I have a few mself to add…seeing how this is where our Francesca Mei falls (age wise) and she has been asking for only a few things, but the things she is asking for…she truly, really, really – wants! So here I go…

1st up is: Archiquest Dragons & Pagodas Something Francesca 'might' be getting thanks to Grandma)
    http://www.museumtour.com/product/5621/

2nd up is: Bendaroos Which this is something she has now asked for 2 years in a row (seeing how she did not get it last year) and since this is the case…she will be getting this year from Santa…
    https://www.bendaroos.com/flare/next

3rd: Now this is something I got for Annabelle this year (seeing how we are headed to Disney in Jan and I have the whole Snow White thing going on with her…a Snow White Costume…
    http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3531143
the reviews were not that good and was very unsure about purchasing it, but once it was received, it is truly better than I expected and it is very pretty (better than most I have been seeing)

    4th: Disney Nature EARTH DVD…
    http://www.amazon.com/Disney-Nature-Earth-James-Jones/dp/B001UV4XW4
This was Francesca's first BIG movie to see on the big screen and she just loved it. As soon as I saw it out on DVD, I knew I had to have it!

And there you have it! All in one post..can you stand it! Even though I was not the lucky winne in part one and I am pretty sure I won't be here in part two either…this is a whole lotta of fun!!!

And if this were set back in the 70's – 80's, I would be asking for a Mandy & Jenny Doll that Fischer Price issued back than (I think Jenny was the first Asian? toy doll). I loved mine so and I am hoping that my mom still has them hidden away in her attic so my girls can enjoy all that these two friends have to offer…

(sorry about the spelling mistakes wanted to get my comment in before they are headed off to school…)

  2. Our Family says:

My little girl has been asking for Smores the horse for years, and since this year they finally dropped the price, this is the year she gets it!! Her friends had this and I was surprised at how cool it actually is.

  3. Anonymous says:

Weren't the Zhu Zhu pets recalled?

  4. Lost and Found says:

Barefoot Books which I just started selling. I'm doing 30% off right now. There's great books on multiculturalism, including a story about a buy from China.

  5. Well all three of my 4-7 year olds heart their Leapsters and cartridges above all else! If we were robbed and someone took every toy in the house, that might be the only one we would replace. Wow…that gives me an idea…;)

Actually, Leapsters, books and art supplies are IT around here.

  6. This is an awesome list!!!
I thought of another small thing I got my 5 and 7 years olds. I found a good pair of compact binoculars and got one for each of them, for about $12 each from Amazon. They love to play spys and pirates and such in the backyard and I thought the binoculars would be great for their pretend play.

  7. Thanks, Anonymous. I looked into it and while Zhu Zhu pets haven't been officially recalled, I think it's safer I take them off the list.
If you've purchased one, you might want to do some research before wrapping it up!

  8. What about straight up Legos? Not the little playsets, but the actual bucket of mixed blocks? I used to make horses and complete little farms with them when I was that age.

Plus, they're wonderful imagination stimulation and great for small motor.

  9. This is a great list. I'm pretty well set with my kids in this age bracket, but I might just have to go order (2) of those Dora Chines character writing tablets! What a NEAT gift idea that is…..!!!

  10. Well, my 4 1/2 year old is completely into role playing… her top wish item is a MOP… yes, you heard that right. Don't have a link to it as I bought it on ebay, but she is also getting a little ironing board from Target (wanted the one from PBK but don't want to spend >$60 for it) http://www.target.com/Creative-Designs-90284-Circo-Ironing/dp/B0028ZI570/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&frombrowse=0&node=1038620&keywords=ironing%20board&field_browse=1038620&sessionID=181-1886818-0985444&searchSize=30&field_availability=-2&refinementHistory=subjectbin%2Ctarget_com_age%2Ctarget_com_gender-bin%2Ctarget_com_character-bin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&searchNodeID=1038620&field_launch-date=-1y&searchRank=target104545&searchPage=1&field_keywords=ironing%20board

And then, Papa is getting her this Pink Retro Kitchen… can't wait to see her face when she sees it. It came in one mighty small box though… so not looking forward to the assembly!

Lastly, my girl is way into Toy Story. She asked for a Toy Story Jessie doll… I found one at Toys R Us but it is sold out almost everywhere online – who knew?? She also asked for a Buzz Lightyear. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3715534

I love that you are doing these posts! It gives me great ideas for other people's kids that I don't have any idea what to get for them!!

  11. Lilly's Family says:

I don't see my ideas from my original post:

    http://richmoments.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas-gift-ideas.html

    For this age they are:

    Over door basketball hoop

SET game (one of the best games out there!)

Fisher Price Crazy Combo Horn Set

Quadrilla Marble Railway (totally want one of these!!!!)

    Playmobile

    Vintage Fisher Price Little People

    Have fun! ;)

  13. richmomma says:

Thought of another one. My 3yo and 7yo LOVE the MeiMei videos.

    http://www.meimeiandme.com/

Here's what I actually sent to MeiMei to thank her for such a great product:

Just wanted to thank you for your videos. My son came home from China in May. He's 3 and fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. We wanted tools to help him retain Chinese. So we began watching Mei Mei videos. Now, five months later, he and his brother (from Korea) can sing all the songs. My son's Chinese guide stopped in for a visit today and she and my sons sang Chinese songs (from the videos) at the top of their lungs. She commented that my son (from Korea) can speak Chinese better than my 3-year-old. I'm amazed at what they've picked up from the videos. Thank you! I hope to see more videos in the future!

…P.S. These are great videos whether your child has a personal connection to China or not. Love Mei Mei! ;)

  14. My girls are both getting one of these….http://www.chinasprout.com/shop/DPL058

  15. We love books. My girls also love to play school and retell books. Last year I got them their own darling felt board from http://www.feltfantasies.com/boards.html
I also ordered some of their stories and other kits. They are darling. They have had hours of fun carrying their felt boards around the house and telling stories. One of their favorite gifts yet!

  18. The Gang's Momma! says:

Wow. There's a lot there. But I have to say, my 4-7 year olds (boy and girl) loved the Fisher Price Imaginext Dinosaurs. The wooly mammoth is even furry :) There's little cave-people and dinos that roar and shriek and everything. We loved them for that age. Especially when LadyBug played "house" with the cave people :)
