Pretty much every week, I’ve posted a Sunday Snapshot.
And pretty much every week, I’ve posted about kids.
This week really isn’t so different. These kids at An Orphan’s Wish sure feel like my kids in many ways.
Cade is in the Special Care Unit. He has a complex heart defect, and he has had some breathing issues. But recently his health has been much improved.
An excerpt from his most recent report:
He is very interested in the world around him and takes notice of everything. He can now roll over by himself and is pulling himself up onto his hands and knees. On the 19th August, he actually crawled two steps before crashing down, so it won’t be long before he’s up and at ’em. He likes to sleep on his tummy now that he can roll over, but always spends some time playing and “chatting” to the others in his group before finally giving in to sleep.
And here is Olivia.
Olivia is in the Special Care Unit. She has spina bifida but is able to get around well in her AFOs and special shoes.
An excerpt from her most recent report:
Olivia’s speech is developing and although she still uses a lot of baby talk, she is now responding well when the Carers speak to her. She will answer them, and carries out instructions well. She has a coy act which she uses at times which is rather cute. She can now navigate climbing up onto the playground equipment. She pushes a small chair over to the ladder, climbs onto that and from there to the bottom rung of the ladder. She has to do this as the distance to the bottom rung is too hard for her to reach given her disability.
Both of these kiddos need sponsors. Please consider joining our effort to raise 100 Sponsors in 100 Days. We are 58 days into this effort and we have 45 new sponsors. Time is running out.
Be someone’s hero.
To participate in Sunday Snapshot this week, just copy the code under the Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed. Once you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine 🙂
Then add your link below. And don’t worry if your number doesn’t show up. For some reason, sometimes you can’t see your own number. But it is there.
Happy Sunday, y’all!
