one thing

I’m no facebook pro. In fact, I’m pretty much a facebook dummy. Such a dummy, in fact, that I set up my original Ni Hao Y’all facebook account as a person, instead of a website.

And, evidently, facebook does not dig that.

So, although I meant to do this months ago, I finally did it. I created a facebook page. I even made a cover.

Eventually I’ll be posting all my FB stuff over there, but I wanted to be sure y’all knew about it first.

In case anyone actually wants to read my stuff.

And, of course, I’ll still be blogging here. How to post here is one things I’ve actually figured out… so this blog isn’t going anywhere.

One thing I can mark off my ‘to do’ list.

Hope to see y’all over there.

Because, as I mentioned, I’m a facebook dummy. Finding my friends does not come easy and I so enjoy following y’all on FB. I’d miss ya.

  1. saw. went. liked :)

  2. So…facebook has webpages? What? I’m so confused.

    • NiHaoYall says:

Sorry for the confusion… it’s just that I am on FB as Ni Hao Y’all, and I should have originally signed up as a website instead of a person for that purpose. FB doesn’t like folks not using a ‘real name’ and so they are deleting accounts of FB’ers that fall into that category. Hence my new FB ‘page’ :)

      • I’m relieved that you aren’t stopping the blog. I’d miss checking in on your beautiful family!
And I still don’t fully get the whole facebook “page” vs. “person” thing, but it makes a little more sense. :)

  3. I’m not a facebooker either- I need to take the time to learn… ugh- I don’t have the time right now!

    I’m happy BUT timeless!

I hope you will keep your blog going too!

I love it and you are motivating me to be a better… okay, much better photographer. I just need to get past the wedding before I begin my new carrier!

    Blessings to you!
    Jean

  4. Be careful, my friend…FB’s privacy policies are lacking, especially when it comes to photos…just sayin’ ;)

    • NiHaoYall says:

Thanks, Patricia! But do you mean as far as GPS stuff, like Aus said? Or as far as others using your photos?

      • I mean more for the personal photos of the kiddos …once they’re out there, they are out there, even if you *think* you remove/delete them, they are still there. I’m super careful about posting photos of Miss K. I have a love/hate relationship with FB, LOL!!

I am so sorry to hear that you are on facebook and won’t be doing your blog. Because my husband left me after 24 years of marriage, I chose to delete my facebook account and want nothing to do with it. (That’s how he met his girlfriend). I have SO enjoyed your family and your life on your website. I will miss you. May God continue to bless your family.

    • NiHaoYall says:

I’m not going anywhere, Patty! I will continue to blog (of course I’ll continue to blog!) but I will post to FB occasionally as well. So NHY isn’t going anywhere :)

  6. Morning! OK – hate FB but use it! Privacy sucks on it – don’t rely on the settings (this from a digital forensic guy – k?) Oh – and if you are using anything but your DSLR for pics (like you cell from time to time?) disable the GPS settings on your cell or you’ll end up posting your coordinates with every pic you take. OK – not a ‘big’ deal – unless you develop a stalker or something who can the GPS locate your house to maybe a couple meters? just.sayin…

    hugs – aus and co.

    • NiHaoYall says:

Thanks, Aus. Yes, I’ve read about the GPS stuff and made doubly sure my location isn’t active on my phone for anything other than maps. So grateful to have you looking out for us :)

  7. I hope to still read your blog. It’s beautiful! I’m not on Facebook.

I’m a grateful adoptive mom of two.

  8. PLEASE continue to blog here….we don’t “do” FB for multiple reasons but we sure love reading your insights.
    Blessings!
    Lynnea :)

  9. Oh my dear, if you are a facebook dummy, then I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO in trouble….How will I keep up with you? I barely know how to friend people……really…really? I mean…How do you get comments posted on the wall…I see the status update…but how about a facebook tutorial to hook a girl up? I check your site EVERY day….so being without your blog would be like being without coffee….and chocolate…

  10. Well I’m happy the blog is not going anywhere because we are not on FB & I would miss you if you didn’t post here anymore :) Love the image you chose for the page- although I already told you all my thoughts on that a couple days ago so I don’t need to go in to all that again.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

  11. Please tell me where you got that ADORABLE headband? I want to get one for our soon to be princess:)

  12. Stefanie,
I would love to use the photo above of Tallula on the Sophia Jane Boutique website. She would be such a beautiful cover girl :)
I always ask the Moms before I use their girls as models. I know that privacy is important.
Please let me know what you think.
    Thank you,
    Kimberley
