No. I have not wrapped one single thing yet.
But I’m ready to get started. I’ve got 8 rolls of Christmas paper and 2 rolls of scotch tape.
And I’m well-caffeinated.
Growing up, my dad always knocked on my bedroom door on Christmas Eve – shopping bags in hand – and asked me to wrap my mom’s presents. Not sure if I was chosen because I was least likely to say no, or if I was most skilled. As the youngest, I’m guessing it was the former.
But it instilled in me a real joy in wrapping gifts. Each preset represents something special that was chosen specifically for a loved one. And these bags, parcels and boxes are full of ’em.
And that makes me giddy… because I can just imagine all the joy that will come on Christmas morning.
Of course, a backache and some paper cuts later, I might not be so excited about all this wrapping.
But for now, I can’t wait.

Andy and I just wrapped our FIRST Lucy present last night when she went to bed. We looked at each other, mid-taping, and just smiled. And there may have been a kiss involved ๐ Have fun and I’d love to hear how long it took you!

As I’ve done for as long as I’ve had kiddos (20+ years), I have the North Pole set up at my grandparents’ house. I went over Wednesday night to sort everything into piles for each child…& then woke up during the night sick. We have confirmed influenza A in 4 of us. Ugh. ๐ I absolutely love wrapping the kids’ presents, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to call in the troops (read: My mom).

I used to dread wrapping presents… but somewhere along the way, I finally figured out that the greatest present we’ve ever been given was wrapped… Luke 2:6-7 “While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She WRAPPED him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Beautifully said, Julie! So much JOY in that gift – if we truly experience THAT joy, it will absolutely overflow into everything… even wrapping earthly gifts ๐

Love it! I had a ” I know whatcha mean” moment because my dad did the same thing! Always on Christmas Eve! And I love to wrap too. And I have nothing wrapped either. And…I’m well caffeinated… ๐
Hope you have the most blessed Christmas!

I have NO love for wrapping. None. But I am lucky to have some older kiddos that do! So I enlist their help 2-3 times before the big day. Thus I’m most all wrapped up at this point. Lucky mama!

My question is when do you have time to go shopping? I obviously need to talk to you about time management.

I’m kinda happy to see I’m not the only one that hasn’t wrapped one thing. My wrapping plans got delayed by 2 snow days so my kids have been home. I also love to wrap.
Have wonderful Christmas Stefanie!!

I’d rather have bamboo skewers under my fingernails than wrap BUT with 7 kiddos in the house, wrapping must happen. I do it as I buy, doesn’t seem as painful. I certainly hope you have a wonderful Christmas Stefanie!!!
