She called for me today.
Loudly, as usual.
“Moooooooooooooooommyyyyyyyy!”
And this is what I found.
Bare butted.
Her only covering – a self-selected, black and white knit flowered hat. On sideways.
This is Lula.
She knows what she likes.
She makes no apologies.
And lives life out loud.
Sweet Lula. I do hope you won’t always need to call me for help on the potty. And that you will eventually gain an affinity for clothing.
But I hope and pray that you never ever lose your joyful, independent spirit.
Home almost 11 months, and I’m still falling more in love with you every day.

Oh my goodness, what a riot! She just oozes ‘sucking the marrow out of life’ doesn’t she?!
And ha ha to your comment about hoping someday she’ll come to like clothing!
By the way, the picture of her in your sidebar is just precious! Well, all your photos are great – and all your kids are adorable – but that picture just captures so much so well!
You’ve got to love all the joy that God has wired deep within her heart!

She reminds me so much of my Rylie. Just wide open…..loving life….and bringing everyone in her path along for the wild and crazy ride with a big old smile on her face (unless she’s mad, that is!!). I love it!!

Beautiful baby girl. 🙂

That crooked little smile slays me. From the beginning, I thought Lula was her own woman and would totally live life her way…a wondrous way. She is blessed with a family who will embrace her spirit and zest for life!

Cute-ness!
Don’t hold your breath for the streaking preference. The first thing my five and six year old do when they walk into the house is strip down to their underwear– squealing loudly in peals of laughter. We’ve gotten a bit of reprieve this Winter because it is so cold they eventually realize how cold they are and put on their footies!

Lula is just LUSCIOUS!!!

Truly, I think she is the cutest child I have ever seen! You can see the determination in her eyes. I believe she will make her mark on this world in a very special way.

Must be something about those Hubei girls, living life intensely. Never walks into a room….but elects to dance, run, jump, or twirl into a room. And once entered, the flavor of that room changes instantly and dramatically. Yep, and the clothes thing too. 🙂

I just love that kid!! Well, I think all your children are just perfect, but there’s something about Lula isn’t there? Thank you for sharing 🙂
