She did it. She’s 7 now. Already well into her 2nd grade year and honestly more of a small adult than a child…
Her big day included a stop at “Haba Burger” (or Baha Burger as they seem to want to call themselves) – Poppy’s favorite place for chicken tenders and all things yummy – before the actual festivities began.
Once home the real party started.
Which included lots and lots of card opening…
(Sophie made these for Poppy because Poppy loves everything elephants.)
The result of some serious list making and Amazon shopping, Poppy got just about every birthday gift she wished for.
Including a JellyCat elephant that reminds her of favorite character in her beloved Gerald and Piggy books…
And a Chubby Puppy. And Sleeping Queens. And a few other things that make 7 year old girls smile.
And her birthday celebration would not be complete without the “Things We Love About Poppy”: a box filled with slips of paper on which each family member has written things we find especially special about her.
The twist is that none of the notes are signed. So she has to guess who wrote each one.
Which always elicits lots of giggles.
And finally, a birthday cake she found (and made) with the help of her biggest sister on Instagram – a colorful cake (except only three layers, please) that made her heart happy.
Oh, precious Poppy. Happy 7, baby girl.
You sure do make this world a more beautiful place.
