a change of plans

Oh my goodness, y'all. So much good stuff going on. As y'all know, my man retired from the military last fall. He recently began a new job in the new field in which he wanted to work, and things were humming along. Okay, he was working crazy long hours and was completely exhausted (which, if you know the energy and the brute strength of my husband, is saying something), but we were so thankful for a job. my guy. an update.

I shared a few weeks ago about my guy. And his current state of jobless-ness. Well, we got an answer back from his most recent interview, and the answer was a yes. Woohooo! But not a final yes. A yes-you're-into-the-next-interview sort of yes. So we continue to wait and trust in the Lord. God has shown up in so many ways during this potentially frightening time. ... is going on a really big job interview today. He's already been through an initial interview and a phone interview. Today is his face-to-face interview. Oy. This interview could possibly result in a dream job for him... but the chances of him actually getting this gig are pretty slim. Like 0.1%. if I can, you can.

I blog. I don't speak. Speaking is just not my gift. Blogging isn't really either, but at least I can do that in the privacy of my own home, propped up on my comfy couch, wearing paint-stained sweats and socks with a hole in the toe. I can write, delete, and backspace all day. And the end result is, generally, my best effort at what I was trying to convey. But when I speak? It's ugly. My stomach turns. Sunday Snapshot: {Saturday Night Special}

I love Saturdays. For lots of reasons. But the biggest one? My husband is home. Ahhhhhhh. And on Saturdays, only on Saturdays, he has time to make my very favorite meal. Chicken Fried Steak, where have you been all my life? Of course, I could make it myself. But why? He makes it so much better than I. And all the work? The dipping? The frying? And the cleaning? I said I'd post pictures. And y'all are really holding me to it. Thank you for that. First off, I want to mention that this is, most likely, not my natural hue. But since neither my stylist nor me are quite sure what my natural hue is, we just went for it. My man likes a lot of things. But he loves only a few. First of all he loves the Lord. He loves me. He loves his family. And he loves to fly. why I love my man.

This year I didn't have quite the foresight.Nor the energy.Nor the memory.Truth is, I forgot to call the babysitter to see if she would come stay with our kiddos so we could go celebrate an anniversary like most married couples.On a date.Alone.
