and three is a crowd. That’s usually how it goes around here with a 2, 3 and 4 year old. But every once in a while, they all find something to do. Together. Today they were playing outside – notice all the sweat goin’ on, we actually hit the 80’s today – and they all three ran back in. Chattering… Read More
Lula Mae
Just wanted to share a little inside information on Miss Lula Mae. She likes to do things herself. She doesn’t give up easily. And when she’s finally got it right, she is one very happy girl. Even if the job required a little adult assistance. P.S. Oh, and she’s a princess. She has the tiara to prove it.
Sunday Snapshot: {Tallula}
Tallula has been home for almost five months now. And, in every way, she is melting right into our family. Of course, becoming part of our family in no way means she’s becoming less of herself. She is every bit as impetuous and determined and naughty as she ever was. But she is developing a softer side now, too. She… Read More
Sunday Snapshot: {the beach}
Oh my. Be forewarned, there are a ton of pictures below. It was our singular “vacation” of the year, if you want to call it a vacation. What it was was one wondrous day at the beach. And so, I took a lot of pictures. It was also Poppy’s first time to the beach. She wasn’t so sure how she… Read More
yesterday
… we went to the beach. A three hour drive there. A three hour drive home. And in between, a whole lot of fun. Honestly, I don’t see how you could take eleven kids to the beach and not have fun. More pictures from our beach trip soon… for today I wanted to share a favorite. For more Friday Favorites,… Read More
this summer…
… out of desperation, we began doing something we’d never done before. We instituted a mandatory quiet time for all people under 10. Because having 11 kids in the house all day can get a teeny tiny bit crazy. The idea was that everyone would grab their library books – oh, public library, how I love thee – and snuggle… Read More
Poppy and Lula
Alternately titled: Lula and Poppy. Because some days, things are that competitive around here. Tallula and Poppy are 6 months apart. Tallula came home less than 9 months after Poppy. We’ve read the books. We’ve done the research. And we have two other sets of ‘virtual’ twins. But oh. my. word. Thankfully, this competitiveness has improved from competing over everything……. Sunday Snapshot: {G.G.}
My mom, known as G.G. around here, is in town. So a quick photo shoot was in order. I took these with my Nikon D90 and my new lens, a 24-70mm f/2.8. My settings were ISO 800, 34mm, f/2.8, 1/160. I edited these in CS6 with Florabella Classic Color and Rosy Cream. If you’re ready to play along, here’s a… Read More
three months
It’s been three months since we came home with our girl. I love the first moments, days and weeks in this journey called adoption. But there is something so wondrous about turning around… and realizing it feels like she has always been a part of our family. Linking up with my friend Lisa’s Favorite Photo Fridays.
dress up. with a twist.
Today, the girls played a little dress up. Except, not your ordinary dress up. These girls love to dress up in Build-A-Bear clothes. With a propensity toward those of the boy variety. Amazingly, Poppy can manage to squeeze into some. That’s a Build-A-Bear jacket she’s rockin’. Not so much for Miss Tallula. But she doesn’t seem to mind. Hope you’re… Read More
