Ever really don't want to write? But feel like you need to? So it's exhausted, disjointed and painful, and feels like an insanely long dental cleaning? Well, this is one of those times. Don't necessarily want to say what I gotta say, but feel like it needs to be said. And anyone that knows me will tell you, if I think it needs to be said, I'monnasayit.Awhile back, my post about our sweet Vivi and the HepB translation error* furrowed some brows in the HepB community. There was talk about me and my family. Talk of how "disappointing" I was, as a special needs advocate, … [Read more...]
waiting is the hardest part

Yes. I am just now getting Vivienne's care package off to her. About 2 months later than I had planned.I know, I stink! We were told by our agency that we needed to wait until we were LID to send anything, and if you know me, you know I always follow the rules. So I waited. But then we moved, like 7 days after we were LID. MVRs must be requested and received from the states in which our drivers licenses were issued. Homestudy visit must be completed. And, most importantly, little girl clothes must be … [Read more...]
Vivi news!

Since the move, amongst other things we've had to "update", we are required to get a home study update to bring Vivi home. Thankfully it's not an entirely new home study (praise God!) but it has required a good bit of paperwork. Hopefully, getting the update completed and to USCIS won't delay our travel at all. God willing. We requested an update on Miss Vivi recently, since we hadn't gotten any new news from her orphanage since February.I asked about 10 questions, asking for her current height and weight and all the other things she might possibly be up to.What are her … [Read more...]
prayer request ~ update

Remember this post? The day I was leaving for China we got a call from USCIS with a major paperwork snag. A snag of such proportion that it would take at least a month to rectify.I prayed, I know many of you prayed. And our prayers were answered. My agency called today and our application has been approved! If you can't tell by that exclamation point, we're jumping for joy around here! Go God!!In honor of this fantastic news, I thought I'd share this adorable picture of our girl, one of her original referral pictures. How precious is she? That hair? Those pink lips? That … [Read more...]
