The high was 75 the other day and there was no way I wasn’t going to do something to get my kids outside to enjoy the weather. I called my friend Terri and we met up for lunch and a trip to the local park. I even grabbed Asher out of a grueling day of kindergarten to join us. Seemed that just about everyone in the area had had the same ingenious idea, but it made for an interesting afternoon. Isabelle loved it from the get go. As soon as her feet hit the barky mulch she was on her way. No looking back. No ‘I wonder where mama is?’ Oh well, maybe she knows I’m going to follow her even if I am eating her dust. She enjoyed herself so much that she just ate lunch ‘on the go’. Have chicken nugget, will travel. The biggest smiles of the day came on the swing. I obliged her and we spent about 20 minutes clogging up the swinging station. I asked her over and over, ‘want to get down?’ and she’d answer with her usual nod ‘no’. I was finally able to cajole her out of the swing with the promise of a drink. After all, it was 75 degrees out there.
