We got together with our local FCC to celebrate the Mid Autumn Moon Festival. We dressed the girls in some of the outfits I brought home from China and of course, that necessitated many pictures to be taken.
Everyone brought a dish to share and for some reason, it didn’t even occur to me to make Chinese food! We were the only ones who’s offerings included Mexican dip and good ol’ macaroni and cheese. It turned out to be a blessing though, since that was all our boys would eat 😉
Isabelle was in a ‘mood’ and wouldn’t eat anything while Sophie scarfed down some Chinese noodles with vigor. After dinner we decorated moon cookies since moon cakes taste so, well, un-cake-like. Then we all went outside to hear a story about the Moon Festival and enjoy the view of the full moon.

The girls look like they enjoyed this very much! I sure wished someone had told us just how yucky Chinese moon cakes can be. We had some and sent some to our family members to clebrate our daughters culture. Im sure they thought we were trying to make them all sick! We will deffinately use your cookie idea next year. What a georgeous moon it was.
