November is National Adoption Month. In honor of this, the Atlanta Zoo was open last Saturday to any and all adoptive families, free of charge, as long as you had a printed invitation from your agency.
Needless to say, with a family this size, we jumped on that offer like a dog on a t-bone.

It was a chilly day (read: freezing cold, we were all underdressed) but beautiful. The kids had a great time. The boys enjoyed the bird show the most, especially when the black vulture decided to take a wrong turn and landed next to Asher. You should have seen the look on that child’s face 😉
Sophie’s favorites were the petting zoo and the carousel.
Isabelle loved anything that included her getting out of the stroller and running wild.

It was awesome to see so many other adoptive families, and in such a fun-filled setting: kids running, parents following after, kids screaming, parents indulging.
It was a nice change to be a bit less conspicuous 😉
