We drove up to a fall festival today that was held where Isabelle receives her hippotherapy. Actually, we had to go, since Isabelle’s therapist had mentioned to Sophie earlier in the week that they would be offering pony rides. Sophie talked about riding that dang pony all week long. She could not wait to get going… she was running around the house, shoes on, teeth brushed, hair clip in place, doing her darnedest to hustle everyone else out of the house. The day was perfect and soon we were out in the beautiful countryside, ready to cowboy up. First stop was horse painting, the lucky recipient being an extremely docile (and old) horse named ‘Babydoll’. The horse deserved a medal for what she must have had to put up with today. Kids everywhere, painting, stamping and running around on a sugar-induced high. Finally Sophie’s big moment came. She got first horsie pick and chose to ride ‘Lucky’ while Isabelle rode her regular mount, ‘Hogie’. Pretty darned cute. Even Dalton and Asher decided to go for a spin, with Asher on little Hogie, by choice 😉 Jude decided to wait until next year for his first ride. He likes to pet the horses, but that’s close enough, thank you very much. For now he’ll stick to trying to ride the dog.
