Fall festival

We drove up to a fall festival today that was held where Isabelle receives her hippotherapy. Actually, we had to go, since Isabelle’s therapist had mentioned to Sophie earlier in the week that they would be offering pony rides. Sophie talked about riding that dang pony all week long. She could not wait to get going… she was running around the house, shoes on, teeth brushed, hair clip in place, doing her darnedest to hustle everyone else out of the house. The day was perfect and soon we were out in the beautiful countryside, ready to cowboy up. First stop was horse painting, the lucky recipient being an extremely docile (and old) horse named ‘Babydoll’. The horse deserved a medal for what she must have had to put up with today. Kids everywhere, painting, stamping and running around on a sugar-induced high. Finally Sophie’s big moment came. She got first horsie pick and chose to ride ‘Lucky’ while Isabelle rode her regular mount, ‘Hogie’. Pretty darned cute. Even Dalton and Asher decided to go for a spin, with Asher on little Hogie, by choice πŸ˜‰ Jude decided to wait until next year for his first ride. He likes to pet the horses, but that’s close enough, thank you very much. For now he’ll stick to trying to ride the dog.

What a great day!! Love the photos of Jude – his facial expressions are so precious!! He looks like he’s not so sure what to make of it all! I bet next year he’s leading the pack!

By the way, I LOVE the picture of all SEVEN of your children at the top of your blog…do you ever just look at that picture and think “WOW, I can’t believe all these children are MINE!” They are all so beautiful! Watch Cheaper by the Dozen again if you haven’t seen it in a while…it makes me so happy to have a big family! πŸ™‚
