Something extraordinary

I received an email yesterday from an adoptive mom whose blog I’ve followed and with whom I have emailed in the past a bit. To say it blew me away would be an understatement. She is starting a foundation in honor of her beautiful daughter, Olivia, whom she refers to as “My Little Pearl“. The goal of The Little Pearl Foundation is to help one family per year who is in the process of adopting a special needs child from China. And the first family she has chosen to bless is OURS!! I am in awe of Maureen, a single mom to a incredibly bright and happy child, who has decided to step out of the ordinary and do the extraordinary. She is not a woman of incredible means. But she IS doing incredible things for others. What an inspiration she is, if only we were all so brave to start somewhere, doing something, wouldn’t the world be a much better place? And what she is doing for our family is going to make such a difference in OUR lives, how can we not pass it on?
Thank you so much, Maureen! And may we be able to bless others in the future as much as you have blessed us today!

Oh Stefanie, TEARS! God is SO amazing, and I’m so EXCITED I get to watch Him do His “THANG” in your family! 🙂 What an inspiration this mother truly is, to step out in faith and in ACTION…putting footsteps to her faith. I love it!
And by the way, THANK YOU JESUS FOR DTC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m praising the Lord with you this morning!

That is so wonderful!!! Weird thing is that last night I was thinking about your family and someone from my April DTC Yahoo Group who just started an organization to help families bring children with SN home called the Elison Project. I was going to give you their name to contact so you can help your sweet boy get home.

I am very excited for this wonderful news you received.

Congrats! Congrats also on being DTC.

Congratulations! It is meant to be. Never posted before but have read your blog for awhile. We are a myadoptionwebsite.com family also. I love reading about all your children and you are a living advertisement for the SN program (Although I KNOW that’s not your intention). I just “chipped in” and I shamefully admit that I WANT the camera (mine is an embarrassment). Sincerely, Tricia

How wonderful!!! I am the friend that Lisa is talking about that is the executive director of the ELISON project and while the ELISON project works directly with agencies and not individual families, I did contribute personally to your fund and I am THRILLED to see more people starting charitable foundations to benefit the children of China. It is awesome to see people at work stepping outside of themselves to be a positive influence in world. I am so happy to hear that you are being blessed by such a person. I look forward to seeing how The Little Pearl Foundation grows and impacts the lives of children as well as following your journey to bringing little Shepard home!! Shelby

Truly amazing…God really is so very good! An example to us all and such a rich demonstration of God’s perfect love.

My mother and I were just talking about your beautiful family and ways we might help get Shepherd into those loving arms! Thank you for sharing your joy, we are awestruck right beside you.

God is Good all the Time….I just love him. Look what he is doing through you, and opening doors to SN children all over the world. Your Blog has a purpose, and I’m so happy for what you share with everyone. I have nothing but love for SN children, and I hate to say that, because having 2 kids with a label SN, they aren’t SN to me, they are just my kids. But since that is what it is, SN is the only way to go for us too.
