Well, not me, but my blog is getting a makeover! I have so loved the design Rebecca came up with for Ni Hao Y’all, but I think I’m ready for a new start ๐ Shepherd is home and life is settling down and I think the new design will be a great way to start off our new, relaxed (yeah, right) life now that we are done adopting. Did I just say that? Well, I’ve been thinking it, so I may as well say it: I am way over my head right now. Where the heck did all these kids come from? I’ve spent the last few days playing nursemaid to Asher and Dalton and it seems that I am always tripping over someone, answering a question for the bazillionth time or fetching food and/or drink for some parched and/or starving soul. But I remind myself, “This too shall pass…” and all too soon they’ll be so big they won’t want to come out of their rooms in the midst of their teenage angst. I realized the other day that we’ll have five, FIVE, teenagers in the house at the same time. When Shepherd turns 13, Jude will be 14, Isabelle and Sophie will be 16 and Dalton will be 18. Dude. Da huuude. That’s not funny.
So back to my happy place: my makeover. I can’t WAIT! I’ve been shopping (when I haven’t been fetching or mopping up vomit today) and I think I have found the perfect kit. Rebecca has been rockin’ it with her new designs and I am so excited to see what she’s going to come up with for us!! Stay tuned!!!
P.S. Hardwoods are going in TOMORROW! And no, we’re not doing them ourselves. My man was on the verge of an anxiety attack at the mere thought of putting in hardwoods with a person like me (I’m a bit on the not- so- patient- or- into- exact- measurements side) so we decided it would be worth the expense to avoid a potential lengthy and costly hospital stay for my sweet husband. I will definitely take some before and after pics, can not wait for the pee pee carpets to be outta’ here!!!

You are hilarious!! I am freaking out about #3……I can't imagine – and they will all be teenagers at the same time! And in college close to the same time!
I can't wait to see the new blog & the new floors! Sounds like lots of new fun!!
Well, I love your blog now and the pretties are just the icing on the cake. Can’t wait to see what gets done to spiff you up!
We’re off on 9/11 and returning on 9/27. I’ve been packing, re-packaging, counting pills, labeling and sorting away. Didn’t even feed my tribe tonite – let Daddy handle it.
I think I’m gonna need a really long nap on the plane. My brain hasn’t stopped whirring since the agency said the “TA” words ๐
oh…get those peed on carpets out! We got that big ole surprise when we moved into our house!ugh!
Dont you love Rebecca! I’m sure she will come up with something wonderful…I still love our design…she did a great job.
H
You made me laugh!! Oh, you are so awesome and so REAL!! Love, love, love it.
I’m with you on the teenager thing. When my Jacob is 18, Jon will be 17, Sam 15, Mandi 12 and Sarah 11. OK, so the bottom two won’t really be teenagers YET but, I hear girls get a head start in acting like teenagers.
I am excited to see the bloggyover and the new floors. But, come on, what’s not to love about PeePee carpet??? ๐
Happy Weekend!!
Oh Stefanie, I can’t even imagine (truly) how full and tiring your days must be. I am tired just thinking about it. We are waiting for our fourth child (first adoption) and I am worried about keeping up with kids 17, 13, 10 and a toddler. We are waiting for a special needs referral, and I will probably be emailing you when we get The Call. You’re an expert by now in my book. ๐
I have a hunch, that in a few years time, there will be another kiddo. ๐ I am sure the thought sends you over the edge right now, but didn’t you feel that way after Sophie came home? Then Jude? Now Shepard? God has a way of helping us handle whatever He gives us (I know I am preaching to the choir with that statement lol). I can’t WAIT to see what God has in-store for you and your precious, beautiful, blessed family.
Take care,
Anne
I can’t wait to see the new look (both blog and house!)
5 teenagers at once, oh, that’ll be fun! ๐ But you have had that many kids in the preschool/elementary stage and if you survive that you’ll be just fine.
Where DID all those kids come from? You are too funny! I miss you Stef…
Can’t wait to see the new design. And hey, I have that same bed spread (with the foot pic on the side)!
how DO you do it??? amazing! can’t wait to see your new look, I’m confident Rebecca will WOW us!
5 teenagers!! Scary… let me think… mine are 10, 8, 5, 2 and 2… so I guess I will only have 3 teenagers at a time (barely). But does having THREE TEENAGE GIRLS at once count as having 5 boy/girl mixed????!!!!! Poor Andy!!
I am so excited to work on your blog, girlfriend!! I will miss this one… but good things are in store, good things. ๐
xoxo
You are too funny!! I can’t even image ONE teenage in the house, let alone…4!!!
I’m sure you already know this, but not too long ago at church, our priest was telling us that every time you change a diaper, nurse a child back to health, give comfort to a child, etc., you are doing the work of the Lord. THis sure did make me feel better about all of that stuff! ๐
Looking forward to the makeover!
Enjoy your weekend!
It’s pretty soggy here in NYC thanks to “Hanna” ๐
you are a riot. I would love to come spend a day with you guys. i just can’t imagine the daily activity. I think that should ba a blog. I think you did that before…but you amaze me with your patience, caring and humor. I can’t wait to see the new blog and your new floors.
(I’ll also say a prayer for you! :))
You crack me up! Glad you have a sense of humor with it all, even the throw up!!
I saw your name on Rebecca’s waiting list. Can’t wait to see what the two of you come up with! What kit did you choose? I have an addiction of checking out new designs. ๐
Glad to hear you are settling in and things are starting to feel like home. Those hardwood floors will help! We put laminate in the entire downstairs last winter and I do not miss the carpet one bit!!
I’ve got three teenagers (ALL BOYS) in the house right now (granted, it’s not five), but it’s not too bad at all.
Two toddlers in the house at the same time (both girls). It’s a crazy kind of busy that we live, but I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.
Having said all of that, we’re done expanding our family and are blessed beyond reason with the kiddos we have right now.
God is good!
Can’t wait to see your makeover…
AHAHAHA!! 5 teenagers! i haven’t even thought about that. soooo glad i won’t be there to witness the chaos. ๐
love you!
I can’t wait to see the new look. I commend you for the energy you must have to take care of seven. I am struggling with five and it’s only been two days since Grace came home…..
Rebecca is such a sweetie and she ROCKS
I am very excited to see what she will unfold!
Can’t wait to see the new blog…makeover away!
And, hoping Dalton and Asher feel better and don’t spread the scourge to other members of the family – ewwww vomit. I began praying for you the moment I read that!
The five teens, cannot even GO there – I was a youth pastor, cannot even GO there! Still praying, sister:)
Love,
Heather
Oh I can’t wait to see your new make over : ) it will be beautiful!!! I often feel overwhelmed but I know too well how fast they grow up and they won’t want me around as much. We pulled out of our adoption today. It was not meant to be.
I’m sorry the kids are sick I hope they are feeling better soon.
