Easter merriment

Thanks to Bakerella’s awesome idea, we got a little crafty around here on Easter. Since my kids didn’t actually see the pictures over on Bakerella’s blog, they were satisfied with mom’s on-the-fly substitutions: plain ol’ foil instead of festive cupcake liners, boxed cake mix instead of homemade and, well, my pictures instead of Bakerella’s. Sorry kids. What you don’t know won’t hurt you.

Just look at ’em. These innocent cupcakes have no idea what they’re in for.

Everyone helped with the prep. Isabelle added the food coloring…

and then added more for good measure

Sophie stirred…

and Jude finished it up

The candies were assembled

and we got to makin’ our Easter baskets

each with their own unique je ne sais quoi.

Jude took great care assembling his, even though he hates cupcakes.

and Shepherd spent more time eating…

than assembling.

Isabelle’s Easter garden creation turned out to be pretty darn cute

And Shep’s turned out to be pretty darn tasty.

Hope you all had a very blessed Easter. We certainly did πŸ™‚

    So cute! Jude hates cupcakes?
Why?? He likes cake right? I think I remember you posting his Thomas cake…or was that Shepherd’s? Sorry!
Josiah doesn’t like peanut butter OR french fries, despite our many efforts to “Americanize” him! πŸ˜‰
    Each child is unique!
My oldest (biological) won’t eat most veggies despite the fact that his father and I eat them ALL! What’s up with that?
    (sigh)
    Love the pictures…as always!

What a great idea! The kids did a wonderful job. Isabelle and I share the same tastes – I’d try to fit as much solid milk chocolate on mine as possible, too! πŸ™‚

I contemplated making the cupcakes as well for my student at school, but I could not find the green suger that Bakerella used so I didn’t do them. Ended up making the chick cake balls. Didn’t think to use plain ole sugar. DUH!!!!
