We’re in Hong Kong! Wow, I’ve never flown Cathay-Pacific and all I gotta say is: they made 14.5 hours of potential misery pretty darn bearable. The seats were super comfy and each had it’s own personal power point and video monitor. I watched, and proceeded to bawl at both Four Christmases (which was supposed to be a comedy) and Benjamin Button, which was so sad I couldn’t watch it in it’s entirety. Clearly, someone is the tiniest bit sleep deprived.
We arrived in Hong Kong early this AM and, after checking our baggage, we ventured out to Victoria’s Peak. The weather was perfect here today, breezy and sunny, it felt like God was smiling down on the two of us on this Mother’s Day so far from home. We rode the ferry over to Kowloon, stopping for lunch at TGI Fridays, and then strolled along the harbor… killing time before our flight onto the mainland tonight.
We’ll arrive, at last, at our hotel this evening around 8:30. Start to finish, that’s a 42 hour travel day. I am neither lookin’ or smellin’ too good. Thankfully, no one around here has seemed to notice. Yet.
The best part of being this close? I’ll be loving up on those babies by this time tomorrow! After a good, long shower, that is.
