Today is Isabelle’s 5th birthday! We celebrated, in style, last night at Isabelle’s favorite spot: BigDonald’s (McDonald’s in Isabelle-speak). The party was re-healllly fun, for a newly turned 5 year old. All made complete with a puppy cake, tiara and our best buddies, the Jobes. Pix posted here.
Packers are done packing. Movers are here moving. It’s getting pretty insane around here, but Chris and I are both so grateful it’s not us him that is doing the work. We’ve moved ourselves before, and it ain’t pretty. Definitely counting our blessings today. In many ways.
We’ve hit a glitch in the paperwork. Seems there is are two lots that were to be transferred to us upon the purchase of this home when we bought it a year ago, and now only one is showing up as ours. The other is still owned by the previous owners. Ooops. Hoping to get it worked out today because we are set to drive out early in the AM.
We’re headed to Nashville, home of my bestest childhood friend, Connie. Just so happens that another of my very close friends is going to be there, too! Amie and her fam are going to be making the trip for the Oatsvall’s benefit concert on Sunday night. If you live in the area, you should come out to support the Oatsvall family!
Next post will be from the road ๐
Lord, help me.

I would really love to talk to you one of these days about adopting when you're moving around with the military. I spoke with an agency this week that said we just couldn't adopt until we get "settled" for good.
HA!
How has WACAP been with the move?
Do you have to get a new homestudy?
The agency I spoke with said we'd have to get a new homestudy done with each move AND reapply to USCIS and wait again for that I-171H each time.
Come ON.
How could ANY military family handle that?
My biggest concern is that we might be moving overseas for an assignment after this deployment. The agency I spoke with has never worked with American citizens living overseas so didn't think they could help us. We'd have to wait. So…it is looking like we will have to wait another 15 years to adopt again.
Whatever.
I'd love to hear how it's worked with you and what agencies you might recommend that are military friendly.

Loved the photos of Isabelle's party. I commented over there.
All I can say is you are a better woman that I!
Are you really as calm, cool and collected as you sound? I'd need some heavy duty prescriptions right about now!

Wishing you many blessings, much grace, much humor, and good nerves for the next few weeks!

yeah! great to meet you tonight!I didn't want to bombard your children when they have no idea who I am, but, I wanted them to know that I have loved praying for them when they were in China and followed them all the way back then from my adoption website. Take Care! Enjoy Nashville:)

How excited I am to realize on day 8 in China that some of my friends are .coms and not .blogspots!! If you walk around China and see all the people twitching, they are going through blog withdrawal. LOL
Oh, how wonderful that you and Amie and Gwen finally get to meet!! What an amazing concert that will be. Better stock up on that waterproof mascara!
I am bummed that none of your photos are showing up. I want to see pics of your cute little kiddos and of your new home, which I am sure is just fabulous!! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait. I will be praying for you and your family to have safe travels as you cross country to your new destination.
Love,
Michelle

Aww โฆ I should've checked over here sooner. I would've loved to have met in person!!! I had not planned to go to the O Team's concert b/c we *thought* S would still be in the hospital. As it turns out, surgery did not go as planned. :((( Trusting in her Maker on this one; what else can I do?
Maybe I can catch you next time!
