I might have watched way too many a few episodes of House Hunters. You know, the show where the cute couple looks at glamorous houses, chooses their top three and then makes an offer?
All while you’re left, chewing your nails to the nub, wondering if they’ll get the house??
I’m living my own scaled down version of that. Scaled down as in much less cute, much less glamorous, and no one’s really chewing their nails down to the nub.
Except us.
Today we put in an offer on a house.
My husband and I are very much on the same page in almost every way. We never argue about the big things. It’s the little ones that get to us.
I am the sensitive sort. And I assume everyone else is equally sensitive. That’s just part of being, well, sensitive. So when considering what to offer someone for their house, something they hold near and dear to their heart, I think long and hard about making sure it’s fair and hopefully not offensive.
Chris, my wonderful husband, has no problem offending the heck out of someone. Nosireee, doesn’t bother him one. little. bit. The problem we have is trying to meet somewhere in the middle without me sweating bullets and him feeling like we’re just throwing $ away.
We’ve managed to come up with a house we really are excited about and a number that we are hopeful they won’t outright reject.
So now we wait. We should hear something by this time tomorrow. If my nails are still intact, I’ll be back to let y’all know the outcome.
P.S. Sorry I didn’t make more of a mention about our upcoming move. Believe me, you’ll be hearing more than you care to about it in the next few weeks.

Sounds like me and my husband. That's why I have stopped looking for a house for a while. Good luck!

My hubby and I are the same way. We argue over what size of dough to make cookies with and buy houses in complete harmony. When buying our house, we found out our sellers were PCSing the day before Christmas. That made me feel better about totally low balling them on the offer. Praise God, they didn't counter and we now enjoy our little house in the woods.

Hey! Sorry I missed the call…had a crazy evening, but am excited about your offer on the house! Want to hear the details…will be in prayer over the seller's response. Intrigued at Jack's message from you! He was very vague…can't wait to get the full scoop. Love you much!

Wow, more excitement (or stress on the stress meter…don't know how you do it all!!!!!). But the Northeast…the Northeast…hey, that's where I live. NO WAY! That is amazing. I'm really excited. You have to email me and tell me where you are going….maybe it is close!
Good luck. I hope you hear back soon. Understand your different of opinion on making offers and in this market, it is even tougher to know how to do it. It's tempting to really low-ball the offers.

Your husband sounds just like mine. I will be praying that you get the house and that your move goes smoothly.

One of the reasons I married my hubby is that he leave it ALL to me on those things! Have I mentioned that I'm one lucky duck?
And which state in the Northeast might that house be located…or are we just going to be surprised!
Fingers are crossed over here for you!

Hopefully they are nicer than our buyers. They made us wait and wait and wait every time we countered. I'm talking up to a week at a time.

LOL – We're the opposite mix here. I'm the hard core, "offer it and if it's God who cares what they think" and he's the "no, that's not even reasonable or logical or fair, we can't offer that." I'm thinkin this is our last house. We both hate that particular conversation ๐
So, any hint on locations yet? I mean, the greater Philly region really could use a dose of East and South in the mix. We'd be happy to have ya. ๐
