Vivi news!

Since the move, amongst other things we’ve had to “update”, we are required to get a home study update to bring Vivi home. Thankfully it’s not an entirely new home study (praise God!) but it has required a good bit of paperwork. Hopefully, getting the update completed and to USCIS won’t delay our travel at all. God willing.

We requested an update on Miss Vivi recently, since we hadn’t gotten any new news from her orphanage since February.

I asked about 10 questions, asking for her current height and weight and all the other things she might possibly be up to.

What are her favorite foods?

What are her favorite things to do?

Is she walking? Is she talking?

Can we please, prettypleasewithacherryontop, have a new picture of our girl?

Here’s the word we received yesterday:

“She can only walk with support such as by holding on an adultโ€™s hands.

We put correcting shoes on her feet and itโ€™s been improving. Now she only wears it at night. No need during the day.

She can only speak one or two words

She is not a picky eater and she does not have a favorite food. She likes playing with all kinds of toy.”

No new picture, I’m afraid.

But news, and good news at that: she’s out of her casts and into her brace for her clubfoot!! I am certain this is why her walking has been so delayed, they have been working to correct her feet for many months. It’s awesome to hear her feet have not only been corrected, but she can stand and is beginning to walk with help!

Awwww, and she’s talking, too… I can just imagine that tiny voice… I wonder what ‘words’ she can say?

Ooooooh, I just wanna squeeze her!

But no favorite foods? No favorite toys?

Could this possibly mean she’s an easy-to-please, happy-go-lucky child?

That might be the best news of all.

Fabulous news! She is just beautiful!

I just wish you got a photo! I remember our agency not being able to get a picture. After that I paid for them from various websites (like ladybugs 'n love), 8 months would have been a long long long time to wait otherwise!

I know it's not a new picture, but I love it. What a face ๐Ÿ™‚ And yes, a happy, easy-going, go with the flow baby might be the best news of all. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ohhhh… I said a prayer for you this morning that you receive TA SOON. This is the hardest part of the wait, I think. We actually waited 72 days between NSN referral and travel, so I know just a small, small bit of the pain y'all go through in the SN program. Huge hugs.

I have been wondering if you had received any updates or pictures on Vivi. I guess something is better than nothing. She is such a cutey. Do you have any idea when you might travel?

Okay, I just stumbled onto your page from another blog friend's fav blog list and wouldn't you know an hour later I'm still reading! Wow. God is so amazing! You guys are amazing! I just kinda read here and there so far and so it's all a bit scattered to me. (Okay I'm skipping around so much I'm lost.) But Congratulations on Vivi! What a beautiful story(s).

We are in Iowa so your side bar on Shephard's foot and that you were at U of I for treatments caught my attention first off. Well, second after Vivi's sweet picture.

I loved your idea of putting out the fleece for God's answer on adopting again … man, I am SO burdened by adopting but I am not as open with my husband as I need to be. I guess I'm waiting for a miracle on his part. It was good to read that your house isn't spotless, you get frustrated at times and that everything isn't perfect. Sometimes I let myself believe that once all that happens THEN I can bring it up again to my husband. Anyway, thanks for the beautiful blog. And I will read through more of it when I get a chance and figure out how you are related to all the things on your blog (like the T-shirts and No Hands But Ours etc.)

I'd like to believe God led me to your blog at just this time for a reason ๐Ÿ™‚ Stop by our blog if you find time. Thanks again for your encouraging words in your posts!

She is so cute! We just filed a Supplement 3 – it took around two weeks to get an approval. Our move did not delay our adoption – Praises! Hope you are getting settled.

    Blessings!
