the pillow

A very special package arrived.

It might have been addressed to me, but inside was all Jude.

He’d been waiting for this day for weeks.

The day his new pillow would arrive.

I’d intended to hold out and not tell him until it was delivered, but I didn’t.

I cratered when he was heartbroken over the condition of his old, worn out pillow.

A mom’s heart can only take so much.

I had to let him know reinforcements were on the way.

And this was not to be just a replacement pillow, but a bigger and better one.

Jude’s original pillow was never intended to be a lovey.

It was purchased as room decor.

Needless to say, it didn’t hold up under the nightly wear and tear.

So, armed with the knowledge of how dependent Jude is on his pillow, I did some serious research.

It had to be the perfect replacement.

Solid.

Soft.

Adorable. (that one was for me.)

And I found it.

If you’ve got a toddler who is a pillow junkie like my Jude, check out Minky Momma on Etsy.

The pillow junkie in your life will thank you for it.

Jude is so sweet! And I TOTALLY know how he feels about his pillow. Deep, dark secret: I am just a few years (or so, hee hee) older than him and I still L.O.V.E. my pillow. Nobody messes with my pillow! And I mean nobody! I have a feeling that minky pillow might be with him for a very a long time ๐Ÿ™‚

Love the photos! They are priceless!

So my question is how do you EVER say no to something Jude wants, knowing that you'll get that smile of thanks if you cave?
    He is so amazingly precious!

ooohhh….is that the coziest, sweetest lil' pillow, or what?!? And the look on Jude's face is priceless!

I have a blanket-junkie in my house…Kiara's "baba" was never meant to be a lovey either, part of her original crib decor, but is now practically shredded, but she still L.O.V.E.S. it…I know a replacement will be needed soon!

    Sweet boys and their pillows…
My 21 year old son had a pillow that he slept with every night. He even took with him when he got married and moved out–although I don't think his wife lets him sleep with it anymore ๐Ÿ˜‰ What a wadded up mess, but he loved it! My mom made it for him before he was born, and I made a new pillow case for it when he was about 3. Looks like this one will last Jude until he moves out…when he's 25 ๐Ÿ™‚

Very nice. Our little guy is a pillow sniffer. He would probably LOVE this.

He is so sweet loving on that pillow! You did good, that's one happy boy. My girl somehow ended up a hard core "robe junkie".

LOVE IT! I going over there RIGHT NOW. SK has a little pink minky blanket that she HAS to have covering this flat little 'decorative pillow' square that was also just meant to be pretty. It is flat as a pancake and so so sad! She get frustrated when the litle minky blanket square won't stay put! This may be my answer to end the frustration! THANK YOU! And Jude too!

GREAT!!!!! I have bookmarked the site for later….my still "tactiley sensitive" child will LOVE the minky things. We still have a hard time finding things that are "soft enough" for her to keep. Thanks.

I didn't know there were OTHER pillow junkies in the world. Daniel – who never had a lovie, stuffy, blankie, etc. except his binkies – has taken (for the last several months) to his "dino pillow" – which is just an IKEA $1.00 pillow with a dinosaur pillowcase that came with a toddler bed set. The pillowcase is SO grimy and stained – it won't wash!

The pillow is adorable… but not half as cute as that sweet lil' Jude of yours! ๐Ÿ˜‰ He is SUCH A DOLL!!!!! Love him!

Wouldn't it be wonderful if a soft minky pillow could make everyone that happy?
So glad he got his new pillow!
