a long day

We made it.

Whew.

We left home at a little after 8:00 this morning. And we barely made it home in time for the boys’ bus at 3:45 this afternoon.

It was one very long day. But Vivi did great. She is an amazingly easy-going kid. She loved almost everything about the hospital, most of all the bubble tubes that dotted the waiting area.

Only thing she didn’t like so much was holding still for the 927 x-rays the doctor ordered. We sang a lot of the ABC song.

We were quite impressed by our new orthopedist. He answered many of our questions about Vivi. He gave us some good news. And he gave us some not-so-good news.

I’ll share more of the details tomorrow.

I’m way too tired to go over it all tonight, still sort of processing it all. Besides, my date is keeping a spot warm on the couch for me to watch the last episode of the Bachelor.

Thanks so much for your sweet comments. We are blessed to know y’all are out there, praying for our girl.

Hey…I recognize that bubble thingy Vivi is standing next to! We were just there last week. Maybe one of these days we can synchronize our trips. 🙂

Have fun with your date on the couch and update when you can. We had some not great news there, too, although it was expected. Hugs…

Glad to hear that your trip went pretty smooth…though clearly exhausting. I'm sure it was a lot to take in and process in one day. Get some rest, enjoy a little R&R on the couch, and we'll be here waiting for you when you're ready to share.

    love and hugs,

Vivi is such a doll!! Two things your blog fans are ready to see:
    (1) picture of Vivi in the blog header
    (2) picture of Vivi with her Daddy
I know you've been busy!! Just thought I'd tease you a bit. Vivi may have some challenges, but they won't define her – your little girl's got such spunk and she's so smart – that is so evident. Chin up friend.

LOVE those Boston doctors!!! Glad it was a good experience for you! I'll be praying for you and for Vivi and you process the not-so-good, plan for what's next, and wait for more results!

I'm also sorry that you the Bachelor finale probably didn't provide the relaxing respite that you needed- you probably just ended up worked up at what a dummy Jake is!! What a disappointment! (I didn't watch, but followed the action enough to know that Jake must have checked his brain at the door.)

Glad the long day is over. Glad you have some answers. Glad you have such a great support system to deal with the answers that might not be so great. I count it a priviledge to be able to pray for all of you!

Stefanie – I am so thankful that Vivi is in your family. I am praying that God will supply you with his abundant grace as you process the "not so good news." He is your strength.

These kinds of days are always so stressful…the lead up, the arrival of the day…the scurrying to and fro and the ultimate decompression.

You have been in my thoughts…all of you!
