Things are settling down around here. Real life is beginning to surface.
The kids are starting to occasionally get irritated with their new sister.
Believe it or not.
Vivi does enjoy frustrating them to no end by knocking over their painstakingly created Magnatile buildings.
And assaulting them verbally when they don’t hand over the toy she happens to want.
Right. that. second.
Another thorn in their side is the fact that she spends a good bit of time on my hip.
And gets to stay up past their 8:00 bedtime, hanging out on the couch with mom and dad.
It wouldn’t be an overstatement to say there is the tiniest bit of jealousy swirling around amongst the littlest members of this household.
But honestly, if the *love* weren’t unhinging just the tiniest bit among the littles, I might worry that things were too perfect.
With all it’s bumps and hiccups, it’s pretty darn good.
i remember when 2 of our adopted kiddos started fighting with each other…it was a great day! meant they felt comfortable and safe with us. =)
She is just adorable. We go in June or July to pick up our girl. I am sure we are in for some bumps and hiccups when we get back from our other two children.
I love this post, Stef! REAL LIFE is when you know things are good!
God bless!! <><
Kids are so funny, it sounds like she's established her comfort level and she's not afraid to say what's on her adorable little mind!
Just goes to show that she is feeling right at home!!!!
What sweet pictures, and yes, it sounds like very normal real life…LOL.
Good to know! Keep wondering how it will be around her when SJ comes home. Vivi is just adorable and the pics are beautiful!!!
Real Life like THAT is what Perfection REALLY looks like!
Enjoy every single minute of it!
Ah yes, REAL life…it always sets in doesn't it!! Vivi is a doll!
That's really funny. Our youngest, Josiah has LOVES to knock over their magnatile structures, too! The girls love to build and re-build on a daily basis. Thanks to your list!
He thinks they build them just for him!
Right exactly where it should be – any second now we'll hear "It's like she's always been here"!
did I say "welcome home"? 😉
hugs – aus and co.
Thanks for always keepin it "REAL"!
Love & Blessings from Hong Kong,
Kim
Amen…..sometimes a bit too reel!!
Thanks for being honest amidst all that over-the-top-cuteness of little Miss Vivi (so, so adorable!!!!!). You're right – it's the "real" life, and I'm convinced your family will be just fine!
Blessings,
Barb
We are HEADLONG into the toddler screaming stage. EVERY. Little. THING. that could be solved with a "please" or a "no, thank you" is dramatically flipped into a tearing, shrieking, bellowing confrontation. We've been spending a lot of "time in" together on the chair.
"No screaming Li'l Empress. Just ask nicely." — 1000 times a day.
I tell myself that she must feel really safe and secure now to be able to give us her worst behavior with no fear of rejection 🙂
Yeah, real life at it's safe, comfortable, normal best.
