By 1:00 yesterday afternoon, all my errands were done.
We’d visited Staples for printer ink and to UPS a package to my sister.
Home Depot for more screen (thanks, Seamus), flowers for our flower boxes and a chandelier for our dining room.
WalMart for french bread.
Back home to drop off plants and breakables. And use the potty.
Then out again to the commissary for groceries.
The post office to mail a package to China.
And then, at long last…
the payoff.
Well, not really good. But they were good enough. No hitting. No screaming.
No losing of any marbles by any moms.
And since Chris was available to meet *ka-ching!* we skipped the Mickey D’s and headed to our very favorite spot, a local Mexican restaurant.
Where the food is just de-lic-ious. And we all eat wayyy too much. Then complain that we’re tired. And that our stomachs ache because we ate too much.
It can get pretty ugly.
But this place is worth the sacrifice of an activity-filled afternoon for one spent on the couch (or in the computer chair, in my case), recovering from food overload.
It’s that good.
You can probably see why.
Jude, of course, won’t touch anything that’s not plain, plain, plain.
And then covered in salt.
Vivi was getting friendly with my steak burrito.
Good thing I love her so.
And good thing this burrito is ridiculously huge.
How come she looks so cute when her belly is so stuffed?
Dalton loves this place. Mexican food rocks his world.
He might turn his nose up at any recipe I prepare that doesn’t start with ‘The Pioneer Woman’s …’, but this boy can eat his weight in tacos.
Sophie and Isabelle split an order of nachos between the two of them.
And managed pretty handily to eat every last pinto bean.
Comfortably numb.
And then there’s my man. The hammer.
When no one else can possibly eat another bite, Chris can. I have no idea how he does it.
Believe me, I’d really like to know.
For rescuing us from a mediocre lunch at McDonald’s.

I think the funniest part of this post is picturing you taking pictures of all the family and all the food. Just wondering….is there any place you don't go with your camera?? 🙂
Aus says
Great post Stef – but – well if it's all the same to you – I'll grab a coffee down the street and meet you in the car when it comes to Mexican. That is – unless you are talking about "Mama's Place" in old town El Paso – the ONLY mexican I've ever enjoyed!
But hey – still looks like ya'll had a great time – and that's really all that matters!
hugs – aus and co.

I love Mexican food and we still haven't found a good place to eat it here. *SOB* I'm glad you found one. I might have to drive there just to get some of that amazingly yummy looking food!
