before and after

Thursday again?

I decided to join Monica’s blog hop again because, well… it’s fun.

Fun is good.

And I took lots and lots of pictures this last week of my girl.

Sooooo, onto the before and after, right?

Below is the ‘before’, SOOC. I use a Nikon d90 with a 50mm 1.4 lens.

And below is the ‘after’.

I use Lightroom2 to edit my photos and for this picture I used SarahJi’s “boost” preset. First I cropped and rotated it a smidge. And removed the bug (or dust, or whatever that was) from her hair.

Then I upped the exposure on her face, desaturated the green a bit and reduced the clarity. And then gave it a tiny vignette.

That’s it. The rest is just my girl being beautiful.

Nice! I love how you brightened everything up without losing the rich dark colors.

Ok. I must get this program. I so need help. My pictures…my models…are so good..but the pictures just need a boost. I still don't know how to take pictures unless it's "auto focus"..lol..maybe that's where i need to start. Any advice would be great. 🙂

I am so sorry that you have had a rough week. But remember that being a Christian sometimes is not popular…or easu…keep the faith my friend. I admire you because I don't go there very often because of the negative comments…but then again, I am probably not being obedient. That may have to change, but I know that I can always use the excuse that not many people even read my blog anyway!

Love your pictures…I just joined on in over there too…the sink is full, the house is a mess, but I just edited a really cool picture!

    Hugs~

The color is great – but to my taste it's a smidge too over exposed, but that's probably the crime scene guy in me (crime scene photograhy is a whole 'different animal' – as a test – photograph clearly a spend shell casing underneath a car parked in super bright summer day sunshine…experiment with the flash off the camera etc….it's a challange – but then again it might ruin you for 'real photography' too!)

    Absolutely LOVE the model too!

    hugs – aus and co.
