an apple a day, or whatever.

Looks innocent enough, doesn’t it?

A plain, cardboard box?

Ahhh, but it’s anything but plain. Or ordinary. It’s a box we’ve been waiting for since early June.

A box that contained, within it’s six corrugated sides, a birthday gift, and a Father’s Day gift.

Now through 2015.

I did try to keep it a surprise until it arrived. And I managed to keep it under wraps until Father’s Day. But, since it hadn’t arrived by then and there was, well, no other gift for the father around here… I kinda had to let the cat out of the bag.

So we all knew exactly what was in the box.

And none of us could wait to actually see it.

I mean, do these guys look excited or what?

On second thought, maybe just goofy?

About to be unveiled… the iPad.

And there it is.

Looking strangely like an iPhone.

‘Cept a whole lot bigger.

Once Vivienne realized it was just a huge version of her most favorite diversion, she was wantin’ a piece o’ dat.

My man. Got his iPad, got his plug, ready to go.
He’s had a for-work-only Blackberry and PC for so long, he has no idea all the fun he’s in for with this little gadget.

First game he played?

Checkers.

That’s my man. Livin’ on the edge.

Happy Birthday, baby. I still love you, even though you’re so much older than me. I’ve got a whole three days until I’m an old-timer like you.

Happy Birthday, Happy Father's Day X the next ten years 🙂 That has to be one of the coolest gifts a techie dad can get . . .

Our daddy got a fertilizer/weed killer spreader thingy to hitch on his tractor. Because he is sooooo intensely bothered by the dandelions. And the clover. And the crabgrass. It disturbs his peace to see them in his grass. He's morally offended by their presence. To him, they are pure evil. So we gave him a super power to fight the forces of evil.

And good was done here. 🙂

Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously through this experience. My 3GS (circa last summer) will be the last new apple we have for awhile… except for the edible kind of course.

Well – if you like macs…..;)

I've played with a couple iPad's and have to admit that they have some clever about them – like the music app with the keyboard – and they are a comfortable web client too – but they just can't be 'configured' – and if I can't get under the hood and tweak things it's just no fun! I mean – jeeze – 63 screws just to remove the hard disk…….

    hugs – aus and co.
