something about the beach

Earlier this week we met up with a friend and fellow volunteer at An Orphan’s Wish, Allison.

At the beach.

She was up here with her cutie pie son, Aiden, on vacation.

At the beach.

I really had to twist my kids’ arms to get them to agree to come along with me.

In fact, for some reason, everyone was pretty content to play while Allison and I hung out and chatted for pretty much an entire afternoon.

Each and every one found something to interest them.

And they played together.

Nicely.

I might even venture to say, joyfully.

This is Aiden. Is he a handsome little guy or what?

Even inanimate objects brought unexpected joy.

And contentment.

Something about the beach…

that just captures little imaginations.

Finding something to do that placates all eight kids, on most days, is impossible.

But on this day, I didn’t even have to try.

Thanks, Allison and Aiden, for a great day.

We loved every minute.

Every one of us.

Hi! Love the beach pics…but, keeping that many kids from getting sunburned might send me over the cliff ๐Ÿ˜‰
I'm Donna, and we're going back to China this year for our 2nd WC, 6th child total. Our Lainey is listed in your No Hands site ๐Ÿ™‚ I wondered if you might share your packing list with me? I figure by now you have the packing for China thing down PAT.
    Thanks!

Where do you live? I'm so jealous that you have a beach. I'm all locked in the middle of fields of green ……….landlocked.

I am missing my beach this summer. We usually vacation at the gulf, but this summer can only cry as we watch it being covered with oil. ๐Ÿ™

Great pictures as usual. Looks like everyone is having a fantastic time. But then again, you are at "the beach"!

Please let us know as soon as we can send in our donations for AOW.

Great pics…I want to be at the beach right now, but we are still playing baseball…ugh!

I also wanted to let you know that no one ever contacted me about helping with anything for An Orphan's Wish. If you don't need any more help, that is fine, but if there is ever anything you need, please don't hesitate to ask.

    Have a great weekend~

Ahhh…you're right "Something about the Beach"! Scientist have been trying to pin-point it for years. Theories about "negative ions" in the air that is beyond me, but what I do know–is it's an amazing place to be–no matter the age or your health.

Love these photos–sooooo sweet–my fav is the first one!

I'll tell you what Izabella say's all the time and rings through my head now, 'Again! Again!" Go again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

ah, the beach….it's where we spend our summer days too…..for the exact same reason- everyone's happy, no one argues, and it's balm for our souls!
