trashed

My house, that is.

I mentioned yesterday that it had been a crazy busy weekend. And until this morning, I didn’t fully realize just how crazy. I mean, everything looked okay last night when I went to bed.

Thanks to my never-say-die husband who was washing the last dish at 9:45PM.

But today? It’s all me.

And the chaos that seems to follow.

This is an actual, un-retouched look into my life right now.

Craziness.

Yes. That is hairspray on the table.

And I didn’t get a picture of it, but the floor is also ridiculously messy. Covered, in fact, with toys and cheez-it crumbs from Sophie’s lunch box.

This is the state of the house as the girls left today. For their last day of school for the year.

Summer is here.

And I am in some serious trouble.

Can anyone else feel my pain? Someone please make me feel better by sharing the chaos you’ve got goin’ on at your house…

P.S. I did get some Sunday Snapshot pictures, believe it or not, will be posting those later, promise ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh yes I feel your pain, it always looks like a toy box threw up in our living room!

    Sweet Summer Time!

Well, I'm glad to see your life looks {normal} like the rest of ours! HAHAH! Let's see. Chaos? Well, for this week, I have to get 4 kids to 7 swim practices {three different time frames for 3 different age groups}, we have 2 four hour swim meets this week, I homeschool and we have to do math and science each day, I have to pick up someone else's kid from camp at noon for 4 days, clean out our 12 passenger van, do 8 loads of laundry for our family of 6 and pack suitcases for all of us to leave on Friday for a 10 day trip across the country for a doctor's appointment and a mini-reunion, and fill out our USCIS application for our next adoption and find the $$$ we need so we can mail said application! Oh, and the dog sitter would apprieciate it if I'd wash our 3 dogs before we leave!

Nothing much going on here! LOL!

I'm living the same painful life! I'm to the point of just going through with a trash bag and carting it all off! I can't go through the summer like this, especially the food crumbs, etc.!

I feel your pain…DH is gone for the week, gets back for a father's day dinner , leaves again for business and then a day after getting back this time goes to China to bring our daughter home….(thenleaves me again for two weeks…) but you know what, it's summer, it's the kids who won't be little forever and who needs a clean house anyway…right??? (please agree with me LOL)

Thank you so much for posting about your "normal" life!! I've got a King size mattress standing on end in my foyer while we "try out" our new one from IKEA. Sad to say after two nights, it goes back tonight to "try out" a new one! I teach, and this is my fist Monday of summer! We stay in our jammies for a day or two and only go out to check the mail! I took pictures of my mess to post a dose of reality. Sure hope my SW does check the blog!! LOL

Yup..I feel it. Was up until 2 am the other night just trying to get on top of it all (and laundry)…but then was buried again by yesterday afternoon. My mother kept this part about parenting a secret. She, somehow, made it look easy..but I don't think she slept very much.

kinda gives me a warm-fuzzy all over to see other mama's in the same chaos that I am. Boys finished on Friday and my oldest just asked me today if we could get school supplies this week for fall. Oh my Lord, it's gonna be a long summer. LOL Hang in there!!

You know what I see??? A house that is full of life and is lived in!!! I have decided that having everything perfect all of the time is simply for the birds. A happy home is one lived in. Enjoy the chaos and smile in the fact that you have a wonderful family!!! Let the summertime fun begin ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, I thought these were your Sunday Snapshots. (Could've worked.)

And take heart – you are not alone (in your mess). Only braver than most – me for sure.

Would a hug help? It always does me.

Glad to see you're normal and not uber-perfect in at least one area of your life. *grin* Seriously, mine sometimes looks like that and I only have ONE child. I have no excuse.

The other day I was cleaning the kitchen of my friend who just adopted from Ethiopia. It was trashed (I'm quoting her). And she stood, looking at me blankly as I cleaned, then said, "you are making it look so easy, but I just can't seem to manage it." And I asked her, "what time did you get up this morning?" And she answered "5:45." And I said, "the husband got the Tongginator ready this morning and took her to the bus stop. I got to sleep in until 8:30. AND I don't have three kids under the age of four at my house."

Who cares about the mess… look at those precious ones sitting at your table!!! I felt God speak so boldly to my heart yesterday at church "make every day intentional. you only get the one you are living." I think your days are intentionally on your children and that's how it should be. Love it for all it's worth… it's gone WAY to fast!!!
    Blessings!

Still trying to clean up after the "bomb" that was suitcases exploding after two back to back road trips ~ one eight day trip to visit family that took us from NC to Ohio to Indiana to DC and back home and one ten day trip to camp. With three kids four and under, can you imagine how dirty that laundry was?

I'm new to your blog. I love your style of photography, mine is similar! I love shallow depth of field, and I can totally relate to what you said, "still can't resist going overboard." Love it! I stopped doing is as much because my photography "instructor" is a "technically sound" kind of guy. But, I've been inspired by you, and I think I just will "go overboard" when I want to more often! Your children are SO beautiful!

Hello! we are all living in ONE room right now…I really should photograph the memories. Our heat pump went out 2 weeks ago and they had to order a new one…STILL hasn't arrived. it is 100 degrees inside our house and because I called my husband across the US and BAWLED at midnight when it was 105 degrees telling him I could not TAKE it another night…he said I could go to a hotel the next day. But God…He provided us with a window AC unit for ONE week. I have to give it back Saturday so the kids and I…all sleeping in MY room…No daddy…eating chips and ice cream sandwiches all day long. Fun times.
Feel better. At least your mess is more spread out ๐Ÿ˜‰ 3 kids and a dog plus me live in ONE bedroom with a bathroom in it ๐Ÿ™‚

I don't know about pain – it doesn't look that different from our place – the expression we like to use is 'it looks lived in'!
