Sunday Snapshot: {Jude}

I know. It’s a cardinal sin of photography to take pictures in the bright sunlight. But with a background like this, I couldn’t resist.

My sweet Jude? He just stood there for me.

And then he got the sneezes.

Every time he gets in bright sunlight, he sneezes.

Something about that just makes me love this boy even more.

He was excited when I told him it was ‘his day’ for pictures.

In fact, he had me believing that he might actually work with me on this occasion…

And not run off at the first opportunity of something, well… more fun.

I was so wrong.

He was easily caught, though.

And once I got him down, he happily let me snap away.

While he made silly faces.

This kid never fails to make me smile with his crazy antics.

He is the tiniest bit reserved with strangers, though.

Okay. He’s ridiculously shy and I have no idea how I’m ever going to peel him off my leg to start Pre-K next year, to be honest.

But once he gets warmed up – which might take a day, a month, or a year – no one can hold a candle to him.

His only time away is at ‘school’… which is one hour a week at Sunday School.

Finally, after dropping him off with a quarter in his pocket for the bouncy ball machine for three weeks running, he now manages to go into his ‘class’ without tears.

And without breaking this mama’s heart. I’m so glad we’re past that now.

He’s broadening his horizons in other arenas as well.

He ate chicken for the first time about a month ago. The first meat he’s ever eaten in the three years he’s been home. He still won’t touch about 95% of the things we eat at dinner, but I’ll take what I can get.

The other day he ate jelly beans out of my hand without even having to look them over first.

And tonight? He ate a pancake.

What’s next for this crazy man?

There’s no telling.

But wherever he’s headed, I sure hope he lets me tag along.

So, link up when you’re ready…. the inlinkz will be open through Monday night. Hope you all are enjoying an awesome weekend!

My favorite Snapshot from last week was written by a dad, Mike, from Three’s a Magic Number. About his son Luke, adopted over 2 years ago from China, this little guy has overcome so much. And I love to hear about Luke from his loving daddy’s point of view 🙂

To join in this week, just copy the code under the Sunday Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Sunday Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed. Once you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine 🙂
Then add your link below.
To do this, go to your blog. Click on the title of your new Sunday Snapshot post. The new url in your browser window will be a direct link to your Sunday Snapshot post. Copy that url and paste it into the inLinkz window below. If it’s just a general link to your blog, I’ll have to remove it. And I hate that.

Chicken and then pancakes? Who knows, tomorrow may bring a vegetable…
Jude is just precious and I LOVE that shot of him laughing while laying down in the grass. He exudes joy and happiness.
Now that he's come to enjoy Sunday School I'm sure he'll have confidence to face pre-K.
Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, we get up at 8 to be ready for 10:30 church, and we only have three kids to get ready. Heaven help me if we ever end up with as many as you…
