by golly…

I think we’ve got it.

And, interestingly, it was a comment left by one of y’all that tipped us over the edge.

And plopped us right smack dab in love with this sweet name. And accompanying nickname.

So, I guess I’ll take the poll down, because it’s not even a name in the poll. Guess we’re crazy like that.

Before I share it here though, it I just want to sit on it for a few more days, and hopefully by the time we’re sure, we’ll be able to share more than her name.

Sorry to have been a bit absent lately, honestly, the word obsessed wouldn’t be an exaggeration over how I’ve been trying, in vain, to find the perfect name for our new daughter.

So thank you to everyone who helped us with your name ideas. And thank you to the lovely person who commented today at 11:25 AM. Thank you for putting me out of my misery.

And more importantly, for helping us name our sweet girl!

Cool! Can't wait to hear it.

We're still deep into name negotiations. Your children must be more pliable than mine. They have very strong naming opinions!

I'm with Eileen, can't wait to hear much more about her, especially her name – I think naming a child is such a special moment and so tricky too.
Rereading the comments I think Callista/Calli, Rosalie/Rosie, Cecily/Cici or Evangeline/Evie are the most likely!
Did I get it? Do I win a prize?!

I'm thinkin' Louisa/Lulu? I've always loved that name- one of the children from the Sound of Music. When I was a little girl I watched that movie a bazillion times and told my mom I was going to have all little girls and their names would be Brigita, Marta, Gretl, Liesl, Louisa- how funny is that?:)

I'm guessing it will be Louisa, too. A royal name, by the way!

I was just thinking about another beautiful name that I don't think was mentioned before. How about DEBORAH? I think it's lovely! Not trying to confuse you. though πŸ™‚

Well – did the research – found the three possibles – pondered for a moment – and finally – Jo – it's a really cool nickname for a girl – and in keeping with the Chinese tradition – JoJo works too!

regardless – couldn't be happier for you guys!

    hugs – aus and co.

Oh…and if the name is Louisa Mei, Isabelle AND Shep get their wishes and we get a really sweet Asian twist on the Alcotts (who lived just a few miles from me). Stef, this is way more fun than naming my own (which can be kind of stressful trying to get it just right).

The only one on there that would give me pause is Juniper. I can't stand the juniper plant–all itchy and smelly. But of course, if you name your daughter Juniper, I'm sure I'd learn to look beyond the plant and see the gorgeous little girl!

So, now a new name added to our boy's name list is Asher. Does your Asher like his name? Are there any teasing possibilities with that name that I'm not thinking of? I do love that it means happy. And I just read that Jacob blessed his son Asher with a life of abundance…..his bread would be fat. How cool is that?

Well, I looked around. . . . If it's gonna be Josephine, Josie for short, then you picked a perfect name. It's my mom's name and she's amazing. BUT don't call her Josie. Only her aunts were allowed to do that. She's J.O. Jo. Short and sweet, just like she is.

And I submitted NOT ONE ORIGINAL idea. Cuz I'm saving them for us. We're gonna need something that goes with the other five Gang members in a nice flow…. πŸ™‚
