Dalton – day one of grade three

Dalton has his own personal style.

And with a style like his, a mama just needs to stand back.

And let her boy shine.

Or something like that.

Y’all diggin’ the shirt choice as much as I am diggin’ the shirt choice?

Anyhoo, Dalton had a great first day. He’d been faux complaining about the new school year because he thinks that’s the cool thing to do.

He doesn’t want to sound like a dork little kid and let a hint of excitement slip out about getting back to school.

And hangin’ with his posse.

Because this boy is about as social as one very cool butterfly. And he’s been jonesin’ to hang with his little gang of rabble-rousers, all summer long.

And this year, as third graders, they are the biggest of big fish in the very tiny pool that is the elementary school.

And word is, they all managed to meet up on the playground today.

So far it’s shaping up to be a pretty good year.

Oh man…he is way too adorable! The shirt is hysterical. My son would want one of those if he knew they existed! Sounds like it was a great first day for both Dalton and Sophie!

Can't tell which one is cooler – the shirt or the kid – they both look pretty slick to me!

When do they go from joyfully excited for school….to *sigh* "Oh Motherrrrrr" about it. I miss the excitedness (-: But at least I still have the girl's excitment for a few more years!

He is so cute! I love this age–it was one of my favorite grades to teach. They don't (yet) have that disdain for adults that middle schoolers seem to acquire.

I'm sure you have girls calling the house already!

Sounds like my Carter – loves playing tag at recess. Loves having the girls chase him, though he'll never admit it!!
