the well has run dry

I guess it’s not dry.

Just not overflowing, as is oft the case.

I mean, after I was finally able to share the news about our girl, what else is there?

*insert crickets*

I do have a few Wild Olive tees I want to give away. To the closest guess on my {speculation} post. Which was really, really, really fun. Thanks to everyone who played along. Y’all had some great guesses. And made me giggle more than a few times with your comments.

But there could only be one winner.

Congratulations to Sara. Who said:

Football and Fried Rice…

Oh my gosh – Shepherd, I love you. Really, I do.

This is a fun, fun game. You know, to keep all of our little minds occupied πŸ˜‰

I think she will be 16 months old. Big brown eyes. Shaved head. Amniotic Banding (missing digits). A heart-stealer.

What really sealed the deal on Sara’s guess was the “big brown eyes”.

Bingo.

And the other person I want to gift is Melissa. Who inspired our daughter’s name. We’d considered Penelope, but weren’t crazy about the possible nicknames. And we’d considered Poppy, but weren’t too sure it would flow with our other girls’ names. But put the two together?

We, at very long last, had a winner. I read her comment, called my husband and he was in.

And even better... I was in.

Thank you, Melissa, for ending the agony search. We think Penelope fits our girl perfectly. And Poppy? Is the cherry on top.

And thank you to everyone who weighed in on names for our girl. I honestly think those comments should be referenced by every mama searching for the perfect baby name for her girl.

Y’all put a big ol’ grin on my face many times over the last few weeks. And I am so grateful to have this community to share with as we celebrate the addition of Miss Poppy to our family.

Hey. πŸ™‚ I don't really have anything to comment on. I just get tickled pink anytime I happen to be the FIRST to comment! So I guess I will just say WASSUP, STEF! And brag that I got to talk to Mo today too. πŸ™‚ And once again offer my services as chief baggage handler should you require company on your trip to collect Miss Poppy! Love you.

We all had a great time, too, and it help passed the time when our curiosity was nearly killing us. Penelope is just precious! I'm sure the well won't be dry for long. You are, after all, just starting another amazing journey. For now, just rest up and enjoy the moment.

Wow, who knew playing a fun little game would turn out so well. I think your newest daughter will make a beautiful Penelope, Poppy, Pip.

Where did you get miss Vivi's shirt? I love it.

I've been lurking & loving all your adoption stories!! One of these days God might finally work it out for me to bring my daughter's "sister from a dream" home from Russia, but while I'm waiting I rejoice with others on their adventures!

And…since you chose the name "Penelope", I always think of you when I see it. Like just now when I saw these:

Nice to meet you. Can't wait for you to get Poppy home! πŸ™‚
