meet…

the newest musician in our family.

If you can call the sound the recorder makes “music”.

And someone who just started playing the recorder today a “musician”.

Good thing he’s so cute.

I have a new recorder player in my house, too. Has anyone ever thought of using this as a form of torture??

Oh, you are so "lucky." I remember Blake's recorder days all too well. I am dreading Emma going into 4th grade next year because of the dreaded recorder.
Seriously though, he is WAY cute.

My kids have the 'band in a box' from Melissa and Doug and they have a marching band every time we have a play date. All the kids will march up and down the hall and around the living room blaring the instruments…….we also have recorders so those are blared at loud decibels….it's nice, really. These times don't last forever.

That's funny! When my son started playing the trumpet it felt like I'd suffered permanent ear damage. Unfortunately he decided he wasn't meant for the trumpet, he was doing so good too ๐Ÿ™

Now he wants to play the drums ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
    Time to buy earplugs.

Oh, you've given me flashbacks. I taught 4th and 5th grade and had to stock up on advil during recorder season. Cuteness makes up for it though!

At my school where I teach 3rd grade, they start recorders half way through the year. Of course they always want to play a song for their teacher. Try 15 off key recorders at the same time.

    Boy is he ever CUTE!
There is nothing like a recorder! It's almost as great as when the kiddos get harmonicas in their stockings…:)

My 8 year old twins got theirs this year too. Their class is going to do a performance of "Hot Cross Buns" for the entire school. I can't wait! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I taught 5th grade, and that was the year of the recorder in our school system. Noisy, but fun. But I was glad that it was the music teacher and not me that had to listen to most of it. ๐Ÿ™‚ One, not so bad…whole classroom full, oh, my!

I see you one recorder and raise you three! The leader of the children's choir at church thought it would be fun to teach them to play the recorder. So now I have 4 children "playing" the recorder, lol. At least they are enjoying it ๐Ÿ™‚

I think we conveniently "lost" our recorder… can't say I'm too disappointed!

Well, darling he may be – but I am not sure I could allow the recorder ๐Ÿ™‚

The other day, Mya was playing something similar in the house. I (like above) told her she had to play it outside. Smart girl opened the screen door and stuck her head out & proceeded to blow it. Is that right???
