poppy cakes

Almost one year ago we made a similar batch of cupcakes.

To celebrate Vivienne’s second birthday.

A birthday that she celebrated half a world away from us.

And this year?

She is with us, helping make, and eat, cupcakes to celebrate her new little sister.

Not so surprisingly, the entire crew was happy to participate in making celebratory Poppy cakes.

I mean, cupcakes? Frosting in a can? Chocolate chips and sprinkles?

To celebrate our littlest one’s first birthday?

What’s not to love?

Some of us spent more time eating.

Some of us spent more time decorating.

But we all celebrated, in our own way, how blessed we are.

Now to just get through the next 4 – 6 months before we travel to meet this little one…

with small children inquiring daily, “when is my baby sister coming home?”

Penelope has captured us all.

Okay, maybe some of us more than others.

Happy Birthday, Pip-squeak!

Happy Birthday, Poppy! I love the celebration. It's amazing really….she has no idea that a family (her family) is waiting and loving her already.
Our little one will be 2 next month so I suspect we will be doing about the same thing while we wait for her as well.

What a fun way to celebrate Poppy before she even knows how much she is being celebrated! I hope you have a speedy process and are on your way to your littlest one soon!

Oh those birthdays that pass without being able to hug our babies…
Praying that this time will fly by for you and her! Can't wait to see a year from now when she's there to make the cupcakes with you!

What a great idea! I just left a comment on your announcement post, but just wanted to say again that we were matched with the same list as you with a little 1 year old girl with similar special needs, and in Guangdong! We got our PA the same day too. How crazy. I was sharing our news with a friend of mine and she told me about you and sent me here. Its fun to share excitement with you!! you can email me at megandmark@gmail.com if you want to connect!

I rarely comment, but I just had to today because, while I *love* the nn Poppy, I think Pip-squeak is the most adorable nn *ever* for Penelope! Love it!! 🙂

Okay, so a few days have passed so I figure I can "safely" comment without the whole world reading it…but can I just say?

This is about the cutest post I've seen in forever and you only got 18 comments, are you serious? Okay, whatever.

Some days when there are a handful of comments on some of the favorite posts I've done, I'm like "For real?" And then sometimes the most random ones have tons…again, "For real?" Dw even has noticed and says, "For real"..

So "For real" love the pictures, love your kids, love your hubby partaking, love the smiles, love the fun, love the crowd of people in the big pic, love the pink, love the celebrating…FOR REAL…absolutely darling..xo
