Sunday Snapshot: {growing up}

Something about Vivienne.

She just shines.

I did a little photo shoot with Vivienne in August.

And I loved those pictures of her.

So today we braved the chill, grabbed the camera and a chair, and headed outside.

Just Vivienne.

No props.

And soon she was revealing bits and pieces of her sassy self.

All I had to do was snap the pictures.

Recently, our big girl has reached a major milestone.

Goodbye diapers.

And helloooo big girl undies.

Three days of constant reminders, and one bag of M&M’s later…

and now she’s good to go.

That’s just how this girl rolls.

She also decided she was ready to get her ears pierced.

Actually, I decided I was ready. Vivienne has been ready for months.

So, yesterday, we ventured out to the mall.

Where she picked out the flower earrings she wanted.

And sat squarely in my lap, even though I warned her it would hurt, and nodded that she still wanted them pierced.

She’s brave.

She’s determined.

And she’s about the most irresistible thing I’ve ever seen.

And, right in front of my eyes, she’s growing up.

Watch out world, here she comes.

She is the cutest thing ever! When you venture to the mall, how many kiddos do you take at once? I just love hearing how families with so many kids do it. It helps me to say "get over it" to myself when I get flustered with just two! πŸ™‚

Beautiful, as always! I can't let my nine year-old read this post though, she's been campaigning for pierced ears and I told her to wait until she's in the double digits. I did decide, however, to use the whole ear piercing as a bribery tool and told her last night that if she learns to ride her bike we can head right on over to the Piercing Pagoda at the mall. She's NINE for goodness sakes and refuses to take the training wheels off her bike. It's getting embarrassing. She seemed excited, so when Spring finally arrives, I think this might be what coaxes our timid girl out of her comfort zone!

Hoping and praying that all is being resolved for your family!

Love me some Matt Chandler – just did his Philippians study @ church with the gals – AWESOME stuff.
Man, Stephanie, I miss your blog! I'm in withdrawals. We announced our adoption via email today to people outside our inner circle and got one seriously racist/rude/unsuppotive response imparticaular. Ewww. Seeing your blog, I am reminded: "Hey, some people do it!And some people do it (adopt) a bunch of times and they are ok!" Thanks for just existing and obeying God, Stephanie. xoxoxox Faithfully still blog-stalking you~ Esty

How did this happen??? She was just a tiny little button with a baby face in October, crawling all over that chair in the grass!! And now she's a big girl in panties, with earrings and a face of a little girl angel instead of a baby angel!!! I just love her, she makes me smile every time I see her pictures!

One more thing I was thinking about when you came to mind today, Stephanie: you are great about sharing all your thoughts and emotions and dealings in this blog and we all love it. But you don't HAVE to, you know. I realize you live our faith out loud – it's what we all recognize and love about you – but you don't HAVE to share. You don't have to tell us.
You know that but it bears sharing out loud at least once.
    We all love you.
