Sunday Snapshot: {the Sprinter}

I was going to try to post a Sunday Snapshot today.

Then, I decided I just wasn’t up to it.

And then, I decided to go ahead, in case anyone had created a Sunday Snapshot post they wanted to share.

Needless to say, this isn’t much of a Snapshot. But it is timely.

Today was our first official outing in our new-to-us Sprinter.

It rode like a champ. And it’s crazy big inside… this thing is so tall that I can almost stand up straight.

And with 3 rows of passenger seating, the kids had so much elbow room thought they’d died and gone to heaven.

Until it really sunk in that there is no DVD player.

I guess some you win, and some you lose.

****************************************

If you’d like to participate in Sunday Snapshot this week, feel free to link up below.

Just copy the code under the Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your Snapshot post where you’d like the button to be displayed.

When you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine.

Then add your link below.

SUH WEET ride. I've been praying and wondering about what God will do for transportation for The Gang when number 6 is more of a reality than a completed application and a medical check list on the desk. Since we have no prompting from Him to take the next step, I've found myself content to just wonder and not try to find the answer myself. I've seen these around town a couple times lately and really like them. And no DVD would be no big deal to our Gang… They've never had the pleasure!

Still praying for you….. But thanks for sharing your gift from The Father with us today.

I would love to know all the details…as you know I would think owning one is a dream. Simple solution..just buy the small dvd players and hang on the back of their seats. 🙂

    Hope you are ok. Praying.

They do sell DVD players for the car ya know! They might not be set up with headphones for all the kids but at least provide entertainment for a long drive!
    Enjoy your new ride!!

We purchased a new-to-us Express back when our then-youngest put us at 8 at home. It was a shell! My lovely DH outfitted it with complete inner-body insulation (great for cutting down on road noise!) and a flip-down DVD player, complete with headphones! He also put a GPS into it and upped the stereo system for me. While it might take extra effort to make a larger vehicle more big-family friendly, it is doable and enjoyable. I can't imagine not having our nice large van now that we're at 9 and growing… We've had it 5+ years and not looking towards replacing it anytime soon!

PS- Praying for you and your "news".

It's still pretty cool! And ya know – $40 for a DC inverter and another $60 or so for a second hand TV/VCR combo and you're in!

Keeping ya'll in our prayers –

    hugs – aus and co.

Stefanie, I don't ever remember you seeming so down on your blog. It must be a hard time. I can only imagine what it might be … I'm so sorry.

On a much lighter note, I have an Express now and it is a shell like someone else said above LOL! HOWEVER, I've never had a van with DVD players. It just takes away any ounce of imagination on road trips. BUT ask me at about hour 7 into our trips up north to PA and I'll tell you I'm wondering why I never got the DVD player! I highly recommend keeping a goody bag/basket in the van with things that stay in the van only: blank notepads/paper, fun twistable crayons, individual snacks (the kind we never buy for the house but they are a treat in the van), search-a-word books, crosswords, I could go on and on but you get the idea, oh and stories on tape are the BEST!–jonathan park, focus on family, adventures in odyssey (the story w/out the screen).

Many prayers coming your way, Leslie

Laughing over here—Brian and I went by a Mercedes lot recently—spotted these awesome huge 'van-buses' and couldn't believe none of the big families we knew of had one!!! Now, we can say we know of ONE. They are awesome. We really could not believe how much room it had—looks cool—even affordable(shocking)…But yes, you will have to add the DVD player. Enjoy it.

We were blessed to get a 2yo sprinter last year when our Yukon died–the month it was finally paid for….but still a blessing in disquise.
We LOVE our van, and it actually gets better gas mileage than the Yukon!
