Sunday Snapshot: {Uncle Bob}

My sister Andrea, her husband Bob and their kiddos live outside of Atlanta.

And we live about 19 hours north. Straight up the east coast.

So, our families don’t get together as nearly as often as we’d like.

Last summer, when my sister and her kids came up for a few weeks, Bob had to stay back and hold down the fort. And, well… work.

I hate when that happens.

But yesterday Uncle Bob had some business in the area.

And he was able to come by for the day.

Although we haven’t seen Uncle Bob in almost 2 years, all our kiddos (save Vivienne) know Uncle Bob well.

Our entire clan lived at their house a few summers ago, when we were between houses.

Andrea and Bob are good people, I tell ya. Not many people would let a family our size crash at their house. For a month.

With two dogs.

As you can see, his nieces and nephews kinda like Uncle Bob.

Somehow he manages to make every thing fun.

We went outside to take some pictures and a game of tag erupted.

It took Vivienne, our normally shy girl, about 5 minutes to decide Uncle Bob was a-okay in her book.

And she never looked back.

Isabelle took it upon herself to give him a personal tour of our house.

And then drew a very special picture, just for him.

Jude insisted on sitting by Uncle Bob at every opportunity.

And after dinner went from sitting next to him, straight onto his lap.

Shepherd rattled off story after story (after story), and Uncle Bob patiently listened.

Even when only Shepherd had the slightest clue what he was talking about.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by, Uncle Bob.

We think you’re awesome.

Uncles are the best! My kids adore my brother, he's always playing basketball, wrestling with them or at the movies with him when he's in town.

My uncles were like my 2nd father, all 20 of them!
I knew if I got in trouble I'd have alot of dissapointed dads.

    Beautiful pictures!

You didn't have to write a word about what "good people" Uncle Bob is….its written all over his face…and on the faces of the those precious children who are clearly smitten with him…..no time or distance will ever take that away!

Such a great memory captured forever thanks to their mama!

Hope you have a wonderful week, dear girl!
