Could I?
Should I?
Oh, y’all. I think I’m gonna do it.
I think I’m gonna go back to my roots.
I’m filled with trepidation though. Because being a redhead wasn’t always a happy place for me.
I have many memories of being teased for my red tresses. And don’t think Audrey Hepburn red.
Think more Carrot Top red.
If you’re nosy curious, a few redheaded pics are posted here.
But I digress.
My man has wanted me to go back to red for a loooong time. And I’m finally at a place where the mere mention of it doesn’t make me bust a gut laughing.
And really? I’m tired of the maintenance. And the fact that most folks with long blond hair are roughly 20 years younger than me.
I’m old. And going red just seems more mature.
My appointment is tonight. Just hours away. So really, even if y’all wanted to, there isn’t time to stop me at this point.
Unless I completely chicken out. Which is a pretty good possibility given that I’ve been a bottle blond for as long as I can remember.
Will try to post a photo later.
If I’m not weeping uncontrollably.
Go for it! I have boring brown hair and would love a change just to scared to give it a try. Can’t wait to see a pic and hear what the reaction of the kids is. They may think they have a new mommy.
Go for it! Right now I’m currently my natural “boring brown” due to a lack of funds. But one hour from now I’ll be MUCH lighter and can’t wait! Women and their hair color. SUCH a big deal! π
Redheads are da bomb!!! Give it a try, you can always change it to something else. The kiddos will love seeing a different you!!! Have fun, life is short!
Don’t even lose your courage. This is a no-brainer. Get er done and don’t look back!
Oh, I think it will be hot, hot, hot!! I can’t wait to see your new tresses!
Red is the “it” color now. Honestly, it’s going to look gorgeous. I was born a red-head but then went super blond. As I have aged, I have more and more red highlights. Problem is – I have a very ruddy complexion. So when I have tried to go red, I just look like a tomato on a body. I would love to be a redhead now though. In the past 3 years my blond has faded to a muddy brown. Red would be fun if I had your complexion. Can’t wait to see pics!
How exciting! I can’t wait to see the ‘new’ you! π
Oh my YES….DO IT!!!! I went red a couple years back and LOVED it…but it was too much upkeep.
But if you are naturally red than it is a no brainer!!! lol
Can’t wait to see pictures….you better not have chickened out! lol
I was a carrot-top redhead, too, and now my hair has taken on a darker red. I was ALWAYS teased…hated the teasing but secretly liked being different. Did you get called Foghorn Leghorn? Can’t wait to see your new look!
I looked at your read head photos and they are gorgeous. Looks more strawberry blonde to me…….and those freckles sprinkled across your nose and cheeks……I’m envious! Those are amazing freckles. I used to BEG and plead with my mom to let me dye my hair red and I still kinda want to try red, but am chicken….big ole chicken.
Oh, your red as a child was lovely! I am sure your natural color is gonna be great.
Then again, I am completely biased, as three of my children are ginger-haired, and I love it. (You are welcome to look at my blog if you want to see them! ; ) I heard about kids being teased for being red-headed when I was a kid, but never understood it. Red hair is gorgeous!
I hope you will post after pics!
I agree with Rebecca….looks like strawberry blonde to me! I think you’ll look great sporting any shade of red; can’t wait to see your gorgeous new look!
I love red hair. I have naturally brown hair and dyed it red, yes red, for 20 years before I decided to go back to my roots. Now I am covering gray! Your pictures are adorable. Have you been red as an adult? It is so in now! I will post pictures of my oldest daughter’s new red locks on my blog!
I love your original hair color! I have always wanted a young one of my own with the same! I can’t wait to see the “after” pictures. I’m sure it will look stunning!
You’re really a redhead? Gosh I think I’m jealous. PLEASE post a picture.
Oooo! I can’t wait to see it!! And from the pics it is a pretty red. π
I have always been jealous of a beautiful head of red hair.
Wow…I can’t wait to see it! It will look great!!!
Oh….that baby photo…can’t believe how much you look like Zach in that photo!!!
can’t wait to see it! were you red when chris met you?
Wooohooo! Go for it girl! I’m a red-headed girl myself so I totally understand! π How in the world have you been able to cover it up so well? I’ve finally learned to love my red……finally. π CAN’T WAIT to see pictures!
Oh, I’m sure you’ll look beautiful! I never realized that red is your natural hair color. Can’t wait to see pictures!
You will look beautiful no matter what you decide. Because not only are you gorgeous on the outside but your beautiful β₯ always shine through Stef!!!!
You look strawberry blond as a youngster:) Can’t wait to see.
OH … I hope you go for it! But I am kinda biased with two gingers in our house. Just wish I had the nerve to determine what my “natural” color really is after all these years of help staying blonde! :o)
I dye my hair to look like your natural red! I love red hair. It’s so pretty. Can’t wait to see pics.
I’ll have to block your blog from mine then, because my husband LOVES red-heads! I think you will be gorgeous going back to red….you would be beautiful bald π
Stef – I’m with Chris all the way – go back to red and keep it long – a perfect combination!
And now that it’s the 15th – and the deed should be done – pictures please? π
hugs – aus and co.
Please post a pic!
Okay I have been seriously considering doing this too! But I am a big ole chicken π
The more kiddos, the more I long for a maintenance free me! Is there really such a thing????
Can not wait to see the results π
Nicole
You have got to be kidding me … you have been covering up your Ruby colored locks?! Your hair is beautiful blonde no doubt … but red is the bomb! And God gave it to you for goodness sake. I cannot wait to see you in your natural hue. How beautiful! Makes my brown hair want to be so much more!! π
