would I?

Could I?

Should I?

Oh, y’all. I think I’m gonna do it.

I think I’m gonna go back to my roots.

I’m filled with trepidation though. Because being a redhead wasn’t always a happy place for me.

I have many memories of being teased for my red tresses. And don’t think Audrey Hepburn red.

Think more Carrot Top red.

If you’re nosy curious, a few redheaded pics are posted here.

But I digress.

My man has wanted me to go back to red for a loooong time. And I’m finally at a place where the mere mention of it doesn’t make me bust a gut laughing.

And really? I’m tired of the maintenance. And the fact that most folks with long blond hair are roughly 20 years younger than me.

I’m old. And going red just seems more mature.

My appointment is tonight. Just hours away. So really, even if y’all wanted to, there isn’t time to stop me at this point.

Unless I completely chicken out. Which is a pretty good possibility given that I’ve been a bottle blond for as long as I can remember.

Will try to post a photo later.

If I’m not weeping uncontrollably.

Go for it! I have boring brown hair and would love a change just to scared to give it a try. Can’t wait to see a pic and hear what the reaction of the kids is. They may think they have a new mommy.

Go for it! Right now I’m currently my natural “boring brown” due to a lack of funds. But one hour from now I’ll be MUCH lighter and can’t wait! Women and their hair color. SUCH a big deal! πŸ™‚

Red is the “it” color now. Honestly, it’s going to look gorgeous. I was born a red-head but then went super blond. As I have aged, I have more and more red highlights. Problem is – I have a very ruddy complexion. So when I have tried to go red, I just look like a tomato on a body. I would love to be a redhead now though. In the past 3 years my blond has faded to a muddy brown. Red would be fun if I had your complexion. Can’t wait to see pics!

I was a carrot-top redhead, too, and now my hair has taken on a darker red. I was ALWAYS teased…hated the teasing but secretly liked being different. Did you get called Foghorn Leghorn? Can’t wait to see your new look!

I looked at your read head photos and they are gorgeous. Looks more strawberry blonde to me…….and those freckles sprinkled across your nose and cheeks……I’m envious! Those are amazing freckles. I used to BEG and plead with my mom to let me dye my hair red and I still kinda want to try red, but am chicken….big ole chicken.

Oh, your red as a child was lovely! I am sure your natural color is gonna be great.

Then again, I am completely biased, as three of my children are ginger-haired, and I love it. (You are welcome to look at my blog if you want to see them! ; ) I heard about kids being teased for being red-headed when I was a kid, but never understood it. Red hair is gorgeous!

I hope you will post after pics!

I love red hair. I have naturally brown hair and dyed it red, yes red, for 20 years before I decided to go back to my roots. Now I am covering gray! Your pictures are adorable. Have you been red as an adult? It is so in now! I will post pictures of my oldest daughter’s new red locks on my blog!

OH … I hope you go for it! But I am kinda biased with two gingers in our house. Just wish I had the nerve to determine what my “natural” color really is after all these years of help staying blonde! :o)
