One of the only times this girl sits still is when she’s in the tub.
Especially when there are bubbles involved.
So I took it as the perfect photo op.
And since it’s been cold, windy and rainy outside for the last 2 days, I took it as the only photo op.
Tallula continues to settle in beautifully around here.
Honestly, she’s one incredibly easy-going kid.
There have been a few rough patches, though.
Seems our girl has a bit of a combative streak in her.
And she’s not afraid to show it.
Poppy and Jude seem to be the most frequent targets.
Which hasn’t gone over too well.
A few teary episodes have ensued when an apology has been requested.
Seems our girl is the tiniest bit stubborn, too.
Good thing she’s so darn cute… when she’s not kickin’ some boot-ay.
My camera is a Nikon D90 and my lone lens is a 50mm 1.4. My settings for these pictures: ISO 400, aperture f/3.2 and my shutter speed was 1/160. If I’d have been thinking, I’d have increased my ISO a bit and upped my shutter speed. But, evidently, I wasn’t.
Thinking, that is.
I used the One Willow brush set on a few of these (I LOVE this set, especially when I have the time to really utilize all the brushes!) and SEIM Super Hero 2 preset in Lightroom.
Wanna play along? Here are the Sunday Snapshot rules – in a nutshell.
1. Sunday Snapshot will begin weekly with my Snapshot post on Sunday (or Saturday night) and will close Tuesday AM.
2. It is open to anyone who wants to become a better photographer and have fun in the process.
3. Snapshot posts should have the photo to be considered AT THE TOP of the Sunday Snapshot post, and should include the Sunday Snapshot button as well as a link back here to encourage others to play along.
4. Share any photography tips and/or settings on your posts for others (like me!) who are learning – this is encouraged but definitely not required.
5. Each Snapshot entry will be reviewed by me. Then I’ll select a favorite photo to be announced on Wednesday.
6. The winning Snapshot will be selected based on composition, color, emotion, creativity and post-processing.
7. Weekly winners will be featured in a monthly Sunday Snapshot post which will be judged by y’all, the readers.
8. The winner of the monthly Sunday Snapshot will receive a photography related goodie donated by the Sunday Snapshot monthly sponsor. April’s sponsor is One Willow Presets.
9. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
9. Rules subject to change, as necessary, to keep this fun and fruitful for everyone.
If you’re ready to link up this week with your Sunday Snapshot, just copy the code under the Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your post where you’d like the button to be displayed.
When you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine. Then add your link below.
Happy Sunday Monday, y’all.

Stef,
I love the way you write about Tallula! I have walked your road with my Spicy one.. And, I am happy to say the apologies come easily now.. And, she has mellowed in such a beautiful way!!!!! Poor Poppy and Jude! I completely understand!!!! You are right.. Good thing she is so darn cute!!!! And, praise God for grace and mercy!!!!

Diana
Every family needs a spicy one to mix things up! Huh?
She is certainly a cutie!
Love the photos and the stories.
As always, thanks for sharing!
Love & Blessings,
Kim
Beautiful! Congrats on your new little blessing =)
The three of them cold not be cuter, really, OMG.
I feel for Poppy. Poor baby. One minute she’s the youngest basking in the glory, the next Tallula is the youngest, and also a little bit of a fighter or… how did you put it ??? Ahhhhh.
I’m glad Tallula is doing well though, and that she is mostly layed back. I would say the 12th kid better be. 🙂 So exciting. Congrats.
Is that Poppy with the handles in the background?! She looks so much older all the sudden!
Great pictures! It sounds as though things are going well, despite the occasional mishap! Continued blessings on the new addition! 🙂
Just took my first photography course last weekend so finally learning about ISO, shutter speed, etc. As I am learning, I would like to ask why you would have changed the settings? How would it have looked different? They are beautiful pictures.
Great question, Debbie. The higher the shutter speed, the less blur, and when shooting kids, it’s always good to have a fairly high shutter speed to avoid blur (unless that’s the goal ;)). Fortunately, I didn’t have a lot of blur in these, but I easily could have if my girls had been moving. My camera takes pretty good pics up to about 1250 ISO, so I could have easily bumped it up to say, 800, and then increased my shutter speed accordingly 🙂
Ops. 🙂 But they are so cute, lol. Too cute. <3
Well done with indoor pics. *clap clap*
Sounds like she’s a little bit of a feisty one…we have one of those too.
Feisty is good I think. She’s absolutely adorable!! Love all of these but the one of
the 3 of them in the bathtub is my fave…too cute.
hugs,
Gail
LOVE HER!!!!! Every family needs a governor! 🙂 It livens things up and keeps us on our toes, right? 🙂
I see joy in those pictures. And laughter and cleanliness ;-D
What life and spirit little Tallula and Poppy have brought into your already lively and spirited family! It’s beautiful.
