In honor of Father’s Day, I asked the kids a question…
What do you love about your dad?
Tallula: *blink* *blink* (you’d think she didn’t really understand the question or something.)
Poppy: Ummmm. Ummmmm. (again, what’s with these two-year olds?)
Vivienne: He hugs me a lot. And we went to the beach last time, when we were old. (huh?)
Sophie: He puts on movies and lets us stay up late. And when he puts us in bed, sometimes he tickles us and then we try to get him back.
Isabelle: He hangs me sideways and he swings me. That makes me laugh. He helps me with my homework and reads to me.
Jude: He tickles me a lot. He tucks me in bed at night. And when he throws me up high, it makes me laugh. And he kisses me every single day.
Shepherd: He holds my hand when we go somewhere. He wrestles with me and we wrestle with him.
Dalton: He calms me down when I’m scared, like during that tornado. He’s not scared of anything. He plays football, basketball and baseball with me.
Asher: He always enjoys spending time with us. And he teaches us new things – he wants us to do whatever we do to the best of our ability, just like he does.
Happy Father’s Day, babe. I’m so glad you’re my guy.
These were taken with my Nikon D90 and a 50mm 1.4 lens. Settings for the first one were ISO 400, f/4.0, 1/500 sec. Edited in Lightroom with the Sarah-Ji Meadow preset. I’m not crazy about these pictures, but considering they were taken in honor of Father’s Day (and the fact that I don’t want to take another stab at it anytime soon), these will do.
If you’re ready to play along, here’s a quick overview of Sunday Snapshot.
1. Snapshot posts should have the photo to be considered AT THE TOP of the Sunday Snapshot post, and should include the Sunday Snapshot button as well as a link back here to encourage others to play along.
2. Share any photography tips and/or settings on your posts for others (like me!) who are learning – this is encouraged but certainly not required.
3. I’ll review each Snapshot entry and then select a favorite to be announced on Wednesday.
4. The winning Snapshot will be selected based on composition, color, emotion, creativity and post-processing.
5. Weekly winners will be featured in a monthly Sunday Snapshot post which will be judged by y’all, the readers.
6. The winner of the monthly Sunday Snapshot will receive a photography related goodie donated by the Sunday Snapshot monthly sponsor. June’s Snapshot sponsor is The Long Road to China.
7. Rules subject to change, as necessary, to keep this fun and fruitful for everyone.
If you’re ready to link up this week with your Sunday Snapshot, just copy the code under the Snapshot button and paste it into the body of your post where you’d like the button to be displayed.
When you hit ‘publish’ it should show up just fine. Then add your link below.
Happy Father’s Day, y’all.

Oh my goodness- these are so special!!! You should dedicate a wall to these prints. Beautiful!!!!!
Such sweet photos love the emotions you captured…very very very sweet.
I love those pictures. Beautiful. Your kids are all beautiful, and sounds like they have adorable personalities to go with those adorable faces. Great family. I wish I could adopt 7 kids too.
The photos are precious. I know the kids will treasure having 1 on 1 pictures with their daddy.
What a great idea to have your kids say what they like best about their dad. Precious pictures!
now that brought tears to my eyes! so sweet!
Beautiful! All of them. 🙂 Hats off to your family – and to your hubby on his day!
my fave pic is him with shep. oh, been meaning to tell you…i showed scott your picture of “the kiss” when you came home from china…and later that week he was showing silas some pictures on our wall, one of which was a kissing one from our wedding and i have my hands on his face like C does in your picture, and he told silas, “that’s when mama had me in a ni hao y’all!”
Oh my gosh, Tish. That is hilarious! I’m gonna go tell Chris, he’ll crack up 🙂
Sweet pictures, Stefanie!
This is the best Fathers Day post I’ve seen in a very long time. Very sweet. Very touching. The pictures are fabulous, but the one with Dalton has to be the sweetest picture ever, I absolutely love it. And the whole idea of asking each child what they love about there is, will be such a special memory to go back and read what they said. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Father’s Day, Chris! I’ll bet you had a blast getting these photos done.
So, I came downstairs this morning, and there was a huge box on the dining room table. Sheryl ambushed me with a Radio Flyer wagon for Lucy! It’s like a plastic Lexus – the deluxe model with fold-up seats and cup holders. I’m well on my way to fatherhood, bud.
Stefanie, your pictures are beautiful. 🙂 Hope you are enjoying Father’s Day with your family!
Stefanie, your pictures are beautiful. Hope your family is having a wonderful Father’s Day!
That’s a great idea Stefanie. What more could a father want than knowing in their own words what his kids love about him.
Great pictures too!
What great pictures! I’m trying to post my first Sunday Snapshot and it doesn’t look like I’m linking in correctly. Is there a trick or have I submitted it about 5 times already? Thanks for your help!
Hey Danielle! Looks like you got it posted, way to persevere 🙂 The button isn’t really displaying correctly, although the code looks right. If you want to just use a text link you can, either way is fine.
Thanks for playing along this week – so glad you decided to join the fun!
These are fun pictures. You did a great job and I love the narrative for each picture. I’m an old school photographer so I don’t know what lightroom does and how you process with presets. The results are great however. Thanks for sharing these.
This is the sweetest post ever!!! I loved it!!!!!!
Beautiful, Beautiful ♥♥
🙂 I love your pics! And especially love what each treasure said! Who wouldn’t want him to be their Dad?!!
oooooh gurl! this post made me cry!! Great shots. 🙂
