running for the Little Flowers

Katie recently contacted me about something she is doing. Something wonderful and exciting and, best of all, something we can all do together to benefit the orphan.

From Katie:

I have a heart for orphans. And over the past two years, God has given me a love for the orphans in China, specifically those with special medical needs. The waiting children. And while it seems it is not in God’s plan right now for our family to adopt, I want to do something to help those who work tirelessly for these precious little ones.

And that is how the Run for the Little Flowers Virtual 5K was born. The proceeds from the run will go to The Little Flower Projects, a US registered non-profit that loves and cares for orphans in China with special medical needs. You can visit their website and Facebook page to see the all wonderful work they do.

This run is special because you can run or walk it wherever you are! All registrants will receive a tee shirt and a medal. If you do not want to walk or run, but would still like to donate to this cause, you may do that as well.

Please go here for more information.

Many generous donors have given some great items for a giveaway in conjunction with the fundraiser. You can view all the items here.

The run also has a Facebook page. Please “like” our page to stay up to date on all information.

My goal is to have 147 people donate/register. ONE runner for every ONE MILLION orphans around the world. Please prayerfully consider donating to this cause and help the amazing work of the Little Flower Projects continue.

God Bless,
Katie Murphy

We will have three in our family running (and/or walking) for the Little Flowers. If you’ll be running – literally or figuratively – please come back and leave a comment to let me know… I know we can help Katie reach her goal of 147 runners participating on behalf of the orphan!
