settled

We’ve been here for a bit over a year and we are finally feeling settled.

Which is great for lots of reasons…

The girls are cheering for the itty bitty football league we have here in town.

And they love it.

Isabelle, for obvious reasons. She is not only allowed to run, jump and scream… she is encouraged to. And carry pom poms the entire time.

And Sophie has always wanted to be a cheerleader, just like her cousin who cheers competitively. Which is great, except for one tiny caveat: her preference-to-stay-in-the-background-especially-in-front-of-strangers personality.

But she is managing to find her voice, and even have fun in the process.

Dalton is finally old enough to play tackle football this year. Not my preference. Especially because some of the boys in the league could easily eat him for lunch.

Although my stomach might be in knots during each and every play that my boy runs, this smile reminds me why I will continue to put on a brave face. At least for the rest of the season.

He just better not get hurt.

Still no news on the job front, so we are taking the uncertainty of our future here day by day.

And today, we’re gonna squeeze every drop out of it.

oh my friend! “He just better not get hurt.” or you’ll break his leg! ๐Ÿ™‚

Watching our kids in sports is exciting and terrifying at the same time. My boys played baseball and wrestled. You would think baseball is a “safer” sport but then a foul ball screams into the dugout and knocks your son off the bench! And wrestling – well that sport is CRAZY! My oldest ended up blowing out both his knees wrestling…

I’m Glad Sophie is finding her voice!!

Still holding your family up in prayer!

    Hugs,
    Carla

I have good news and bad news.

The good news? It just does NOT get old seeing your kiddoes participate in the things that they love.

The bad news? The tummy knots don’t go away just cuz they’ve been doing it a while. Or cuz they are good at what they do. ๐Ÿ™

But also on the good news front? Being a football momma means I can cheer my brains out like a crazy woman when my boy wrecks someone on the field ๐Ÿ™‚ I mean, when he executes a perfect block. Heh.

That comment right up there above mine? I laughed so loud that I scared the dog!! That’s exactly how football feels to me, and all three of my boys play! They learn SO much more than just how to make a three-point stance. Perseverance, Integrity, Respect, Discipline. There is so much more. Football has been an amazingly positive force in the life of my boys, and I never thought I would say that! I love to see my oldest get out there and become a lineman, bent on destruction and determined that NOBODY is getting past him. Then he walks off the field and gives his little sister a hug. It’s the craziest thing I’ve ever seen and I love every second.

    Dear Stefanie,
My husband and I are in the final steps of adoption of our daughter from China, our first adoption. Your posts, notably the proceed with caution posts, have touched our hearts. I am a worrier by nature but have found comfort from your experiences and deep faith. For that we say a big THANK YOU.
On another note, I love your pictures. We are traveling to China in about 4 weeks and wonder what lens you would recommend to buy? I have a cannon rebel.
    Thank you so very much.

How exciting, Amanda! So happy to hear you’ve enjoyed reading our ‘stuff’ ๐Ÿ™‚
Can you tell me what lens you have now? And what sort of pictures you’d like to take? Also, do you have a price range for a lens? All those answers will help me try to give you a solid recommendation.
      Blessings on your upcoming trip!
