Sunday Snapshot: {school pictures}

Here they are.

At least, a few of ’em. More to follow, when I manage to wrangle the older kids into a photo shoot.

Since I’m doing school pictures my way, I figured I’d include a mini-interview, too. This way, when they are older and ask me for details about their childhood that I’ve long since forgotten, I can point them to this blog post.

Multi-tasking at it’s finest.

Here’s Jude. Mr. 1st grade and loving every minute of it.

Mom: What is your favorite thing about being in 1st grade?

Jude: Balancing clips on a popcicle stick. Because it’s fun.

Mom: ???

Mom: What is your least favorite thing about being in 1st grade?

Jude: When the teacher reads books. Because we just sit on the carpet and listen and she reads two, or three or one long book. But sometimes they’re short. But not all the time.

Mom: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Jude: A dentist. So that I can floss people’s teeth.

And here’s Shepherd. Shep started kindergarten this year and he never looked back. Wah.

Mom: What’s your favorite thing about kindergarten?

Shep: I like it when my teachers say I can wear my pajamas to school. So everyone can see my skeleton jammies even thought they didn’t get to see my glowing-up skeleton because they couldn’t let the room be dark.

Mom: What is your least favorite thing about kindergarten?

Shep: When people yell out and waste our time to do show and tell or choice centers or lunch time.

Mom: Methinks someone wants to be the teacher’s pet.

Mom: What do you want to be when you grow up?

Shep: A soldier. I like soldiers because they’re a great team.

Mom: Note to self – less Power Rangers. More Max and Ruby.

I used my Nikon D90 and 24-70mm f/2.8 lens. My settings for the first one were ISO 1250 f/2.8 1/160 48mm. I edited them all in LR to reduce the noise and then exported them into CS6 where I edited them with Florabella actions.

If you want to play along, the rules have recently changed. Visit here for the full scoop.

Those pics are SOOOO much better than the crappy, overpriced school pics anyway!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Jude and Shepherd are too cute!! I was hoping to get some pics out in the fall leaves for my kiddo, but fear Hurricane Sandy and Coast Guard duties are going to mess that up! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Oh my!!!! They’re adorable and handsome and smart, Stefanie! Wow, a dentist! GREAT choice!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ My hubbs is a dentist. ๐Ÿ™‚

The photos are beautiful! You should be the class’s photographer, hehe. I actually want to offer my services for my daughter’s class, because the photos from last year, from kindergarten were SO crappy. I wonder where schools find these photographers. And they are overpriced indeed. It seems things are the same everywhere, lol.

I love this post! Have you noticed that you blog more about your girls!? ๐Ÿ˜‰ And I can see why, they are super cute and they have super cute dresses and outfits and hairpins.. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I’m mother of two boys so would like to read more about boys’ life. ๐Ÿ™‚

Our older boy is also in 1st grade. And he think it’s so boring. It’s fun to play with friends but it’s boring when they have to sit and do what the teacher says..and homework..oh boy!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thank you so much for this post! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Have a lovely Sunday!
